every time i try to set up my gmail account on mozilla thunderbird i get a message saying " user name or password is invalid "I am using the same name and password as my gmail account is this right or wrong Thanks

Try using your full email address as the username instead of just everything in front of the @ symbol.

I could be mixing that up with something else but give it a shot if you haven't already.
