The bottom half of the draw is a nightmare compared to the top.

I'd love to see a Spain V. Argentina Semi!

    Pun away.

I agree with the Tolosenc predictions (perhaps maybe Portugal to beat Spain and Paraguay to beat Japan)

I know! One of Uruguay, Korea, USA and Ghana will be a semi finalist, as will one of Argentina, Mexico, Germany and England... (The other halves of each half of the draw are pretty equal).

Bonerm, out of the 8 of us in the pub, I was the only one who said Portugal to beat Spain, so I went with the peer pressure. Japan beating Paraguay is my shock result for the last 16.

    It's looking like a Brazil-Argentina final.

I doubt Netherlands would beat Brazil. Brazil will be back in form with Kaka and Robinho. I'd rather see Netherlands win though.

If they did I think Argentina would win it. If Brazil play Argentina in the final I'd want Argentina to win.

I'm delighted to see Switzerland get knocked out, having such a negative minded utterly boring team like them go through at the expense of Chile or Spain would have been a crime.

Chile will be the suprise team of the tournament I think. I can easily see them beating a very average Brasil.

    C'mon Germany!!!

Wouldn't mind seeing any of those in a Semi and they'd cause Brazil or Holland problems. Uruguay have been impressive, in a non Uruguayan, cynical way you expect and Korea have a great, innocent way of playing.

Agreed, chuffed for Honduras to get a result as well. Chile to me, are probably the most impressive team so far, but, no goal scoring threat. They remind me of Spain, but without the household names, which makes them all the more attractive to watch!

Paddy's doing 11/4 special today on Uruguay to win and Forlan to score.

    Decent price.

Funniest thing on the radio this morning: lots of English fans bought tickets for the USA-GHA match this evening in Rustenburg, assuming England were going to win the group. So they are trying to swap tickets with American fans, assuming the American fans bought tickets for Bloemfontein. But they didn't. The Americans bought tickets for Rustenburg, assuming their team was going to win the group. Obviously one set of fans is delusional regarding their team's chances. :D

England screwed up royally by not beating the US and Algeria as expected so you can hardly call the English fans delusional tbf. It was realistic for them to bank on England winning the group,

The capacity was 30,000. The stadium holds 50,000.

This is a world cup and nearly half of the stadium is empty. It's been like that for most games so far. It's a fúcking joke.
