Indeed. At least his new haircut makes him look like less of a woman.

I honestly hope things stay as they are. Switzerland do not deserve to get through. Peter Collins is just after saying "If ever a match did not deserve a commentary, then this is it".

Well, that's the last 16 decided.

You jinxed the game by adding Fernando Torres name to the thread title...it was going fine until then.

So one of Uruguay, South Korea, Ghana or the USA will make it to a semi-final - definitely the easy quarter of the draw. Will the refereeing decisions be biased towards Ghana? How many more penalties will they get?

So 6 European teams left. And all are paired off: NED Vs SVK, GER Vs ENG, SPA Vs POR.

The only team from the Americas that didn't make it is Honduras.

Yeah the American teams are really strong this year-I'd be suprised if at least three didn't make it to the semis( think that's possible??).

Hmmmmm, thats a tough one-on the whole the USA are a better side so I don't think referee decisions will play a massive role in that match.

Yes, possible. Probable, yes, also. In fact, the winner of the Argentina-Mexico game is my pick to win it all.

    Semi-Final line-up: Arg-Spa, Bra-Uru.

I just wish the pundits would stop calling them Yoorooguay. It's Uruguay (Oorooguay).

Just watched the highlights of the Ivory Coast V North Korea game and the commentator called them Cote D'Ivoire and Korea DPR throughout the whole segment.

It's pronounced Oorooguay in Spanish. In English, it is as the pundits correctly pronounce it, Uruguay.

Yeah, I noticed that some commentators were pronouncing it the other way and thought it was wrong

Pronouncing it as the Spanish do, would be like a Spanish pundit calling Ireland, Ireland & not Irlanda.

Ossie Ardilles can call them what he likes, however!

Just seen on BBC that they have Gerrard in their team of the tournament so far - apart from goal against USA he has been muck. Can't watch BBC anymore.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 558 ✭✭✭Mick Daly

BBC is pure trash and Gerrard is a useless cúnt.

Dunphy was right many years ago. "Found out tonight - nothing player."
