I've been playing this song quite a lot recently, the mandolin and vocals are just heavenly. Only just after finding out that Isaac Brock provides backing vocals too!

Does anyone else think Kanye's older stuff is a lot better??
I was just thinking about this.
It's funny, he got progressively more dickish with each album (my favourite example being the fact that, on his third album, he wrote a song about diamonds from sierra leone and exploitation of workers etc etc, then decided to release a different version rapping about how awesome he is instead), but then his partner left him and his mother died and his latest album is from a completely different man.
Just look at the contrast between The Good Life [typical assholish rap song about how amazing he is because of all his money] and Welcome to Heartbreak ["[I]Chased the good life my whole life long/Look back on my life and my life gone/Where did I go wrong?"][/I]. This is why I love 808s & Heartbreak. It's Kanye coming back down to earth completely, singing songs about regret and love and loss and anger and... oomph. Kanye 0 -
