Went to the gym for the first time in about a month today, went for a shower after my session and saw signs up on the wall ''please use toilet facilities for removing tampons not the shower area'' - turned around, got dressed and showered at home.

    *shudder*

Had to quite quickly change lanes during my swim today, after I realised that there were a couple of 14 year olds at the wall in the deep end in my lane getting it on...

Quite happy to see the amount of people joining me on the WUSS wagon today. Although I skipped training due to pure exhaustion. Lack of sleep the last 2 nights and being in work at 6 am just kinda killed it so I passed out on the sofa after work.

Thanks for making me feel a little bit better my fellow whimps :D

Lol I was due to train today and did so, no wussing out (this week anyways). Just finding the heat hard to deal with though, I think its worse indoors, its quite breezy outside so a little cooler feeling.

This epidemic of squats ripping up shoulders......I think its a heat thing.

VIS VIRES mentioned it, Podge was on about it the other day.

    I got it bad today.

    Shoulders or hands?

My shoulders tend to get thrashed low bar squatting. I develop calluses (sp) on them during 8-10 week comp cycles. It's pretty cook actually!!

    Shoulders.
Podge mentioned it last week, I think.
I recommended sudocrem. Which I am off to put on now.

I have a photo, but probably won't put it up cos I'm embarrased.. Its like "fisher price: my first Traps."

The problem I have is when my t-shirt gets sweaty, and the bar makes it chafe really bad. Wearing just a vest/ wife-beater helps to reduce the friction

I also think I have it worse than anyone when it comes to training in the heat - I lift in a small shed, with no air conditioning, and a tin roof. Just standing in it for 5 mins makes you sweat.
Playing football in the heat and on hard ground has left my feet destroyed, and I can't fit in my regular boots because my feet are so swollen!

Yeah, the welts were worse where the stitching on my tshirt was.

    Are you playing in studs/blades?
Would it not be worth investing in astroturf/hard surface boots if you are going to play 3 times a week in the summer? They have a load of kind of rubber teeth rather than studs.

went home for a hurling match last night, junior b league semi in case ye're interested...first start of the season as i hadn't been training much with work earlier on.
Anyway went on a solo run near half time and just as i released the ball got an awful shoulder charge...straight to the ground, next stop A+E...4hrs later they tell me my clavical has come away from my AC joint, a shoulder seperation.

Fair sickened, didn't even get a free and they ended up losing by 4 points!! Have to wait for the fracture clinic on monday to see the whole extent of the injury but it's looking like 6 weeks in a sling and 2-3 months+ recovery time.
GUTTED to say the least, looking forward to rebuilding my upper body though afterwards.
    sympathy anyone?? :(

Yeah it sucks. I broke my thumb last September playing rugby and couldn't go to the gym for 8 weeks. Lost over a stone - was depressed! But the good news in you'll put it all back on and get your strength back relatively quickly.

In the last 6 weeks I've subluxated my shoulder and broke my nose. I know how ya feel!! (and I've had my other shoulder op'd on previously!)

Wait so it wasn't the bad shoulder that you injured doing that snatch? Double bummer.

Haha no I'm kinda glad it was the "good" one. I'd have been devo if I'd gone thru the pain and annoyance of rehab'n the other one only to reinjure it.
