Like the title says i think it is,closed down the cover(didn't shut it down) and left it for an hour or two when I came back it was completely dead.
The hard drive appears to be fine(I've been able to connect to my desktop to access my files and stuff) so I think its the laptop myself.

Would I be write in saying my only real option is to move my files from my hardrive to another location and purchase a new laptop?
I don't think I can put the hardrive into another laptop as it the os is vista

What happens when you try to turn it on? Any lights? Fans? Anything at all?

could the battery have been completly dead and the power not properly connected the first time you had the problem ,
