Correct me if I'm wrong but would drugs not affect your concentration in a bad way? Say like drugs and driving?

The energy drinks and caffeine is understandable though.

Some types of drugs would have very positive effects, some would be very negative (and lots inbetween obviously). Thats why I was saying it would be interesting to see the breakdown, though of course that doesnt indicate which players were more successful either. Need more datas!

Quite a few pros take 'concentration' drugs for long sessions and getting into a grind on a daily basis. As far as I know they may negative have long term effects. If I find the names I'll post them up.

hmmmm well i drink coffee when i play poker..that includes me in the statistics of poker players who take uppers...but not narcotics....i wish the study classified the number of players who take illegal drugs and number or percentage of poker players who take other upper substances such as coffee, energy drinks..most of which contains caffeine..which is not necessarily as harmful as narcotics...and definitely not illegal...studies show that caffeine has antioxidants that can help our body rid of toxins...uhmmm i dont know, just saying ... teehee :D ...

or maybe they did classify their subjects in their actual study...i wish they indicated it in that report the percentage of people who take drugs and the percentage of people who take other substances.... :D

A guy I play poker with(in real life) always smokes a joint before a game. He says it reduces the ability of people to read him.

To be honest after a joint his face does look the same whether he wins or loses.

Also if they are including caffeine in that report, im surprised they are not reporting 100% of poker players take drugs.

nothing worse than playing with lads on hash/weed, they are retardedly slow stink up the casino and if theres more than one can cause a good game to break up.

I'm dealer. was dealing in many clubs, and I saw many guys who use drugs. One guy is 20 years old, he drinking, use drugs every 30 min. He had two heart attacks, doctors told him to stop, or he will die, but he don't want to stop.

I like the fact that 60% of the participants was pro or semi-pro but 80% is taking substances to improve their game . Go recreational players , we can have some fun as well
. 105 knew/heard others used marijuana to improve poker performance .. LOL
