    Last Winter was pretty damn extreme alright, I remember seeing how bad the floods were in Cork city, never seen anything like it. I also remember seeing a guy using the platform thing on truck as a platform for people to cross a flooded road. So in that respect, that kind of extreme weather can bring the best out of people.

    Then there was the cold. I remember at the start of Winter always seeing a display that show the time and temperature and was keen on seeing it read a negative temperature. Lesson learned: be careful what you wish for! Never seen anything like how long the cold went on for either.

    I hate winter. It means Christmas and New Years,which i'd do anything to get away from.

    Not that mad on summer either mind you..

    :cool:

    January brings the snow;
    Makes the toes and fingers glow.

    February brings the rain,
    Thaws the frozen ponds again.

    March brings breezes loud and shrill,
    Stirs the dancing daffodil.

    April brings the primrose sweet,
    Scatters daisies at our feet.

    May brings flocks of pretty lambs,
    Skipping by their fleecy dams.

    June brings tulips, lilies, roses;
    Fills the children’s hands with posies.

    Hot July brings cooling showers,
    Strawberries and gilly-flowers.

    August brings the sheaves of corn,
    Then the harvest home is borne.

    Warm September brings the fruit,
    Sportsmen then begin to shoot.

    Fresh October brings the pheasant;
    Then to gather nuts is pleasant.

    Dull November brings the blast,
    Then the leaves are falling fast.

    Chill December brings the sleet,
    Blazing fire and Christmas treat.

    I love winter.
    Big warm coats and fires.

    I got really into embracing the rain this year too, I just walked around getting soaked and I loved it. Then a lovely warm shower when I got home.

    Only ad thing about summer, Big Brother, which is starting... As I type this.
    Ah ****e, I wont be watching TV for a while.

    I hope its arctic cold again because this summer so far has been crap and its nearly ending again. Had 4 foot in total of snow and my road was shut, and was on the news!!

    Another favourite part of winter for me is - a real freezing cold crisp morning ,when I see the fog of my breath and all the grass is white and crunchy and icey, and my nose is cold

    I thought last winter was pretty awesome, came back from a couple of years away at christmas and I really enjoyed all the snow and the ice. It was like it was something special we were seeing, and I live in the country and couldn't leave the house for a couple of days but it was still cool. Might not have been so impressed if we had lost power however...

    But I do love a good coal and timber fire in the winter, satisfaction from building and from the reward. Will actually be chopping would next week for this weeks winter :)
    Can make yourself real cosy in winter and thats cool, I dont feel guilty like I do in the summertime if I spend an evening on my hole

    Maybe you should go to South Africa. The weather down there has been pretty miserable. For my part I want to enjoy the summer while it lasts and to heck with winter.

    I love that too - unfortunately it's a rare occurrence during an Irish winter.
