Can you start in safe mode & run virus scan from there?

NO? well, ok then I think that kinda sounds serious, maybe take it to a professional shop, other readers may beg to differ?

some virus/malware scanners I use: spybot, ad-aware,malwarebytes-anti malware, (all free to download) not solely but in unison with each other they usually come up trumps thats if you can get the beast started..good luck

Yeah there is. The irish windows defaults to locked when there's nothing better to do.

Use an AVG rescue CD, you'll need access to a PC with a DVD Burner though (pretty common, hard to find a PC without nowadays)

    AVG CD:
