My brother has two budgies called Johnson and Fernando..I think they're "life partners".

I love when animals have human names and real lives.

I prefer people name for pets. Alan is a great name. So much better than fluffy or socks or those kind of names.

Our cat is called Murdoch and it really suits it. We named him after Howling Mad Murdoch from the A-team. He gets called Murdy or The Murd too which kind of makes it sound like he is homicidal which I guess he is sometimes, if you're a lizard or a cicada.

I bought a puppy just over a week ago and we were certain he would be called Phil but after a while of name changing we stuck with McClane.

    He's a bad ass

Used to have a hamster we named Arlo. We picked the name before we got her, then realised we'd picked a female, but the name had already stuck. Currently looking after a stray dog I've named Toby. Is Toby a human name?

My friends nickname is Toby, everyone calls him that. Bar me- I refused from the start, and call him by his proper name as i told him Toby is a dog's name!

    So i think it's both personally :)

We've got a mad bastard terrier called Kramer after the mad bastard on Seinfeld.

We did have a tabby cat, which I naturally named "Spot", but I accidentally reversed over it on the drive.:(

What a brilliant idea. You could name all of your pets after members of the A Team. What kind of animal would get each name?

Also, a girl at work just got one of those camp "purse" dogs, that Paris Hilton has, as an accessory. We really wanted her to call it Killer. Unfortunately she went for Boo.:(:(:(:(:(

My mate got in total flap when I called my dog Sprocket.

He has a phobia about the fraggles and reckons me calling the dog gives him palpitations and brings him out in a cold sweat

I have a pet spider who lives in my car wing mirror, his name is Kevin. I thought I'd killed him when I'd flicked ash into his web by accident but he appeared again a couple of days later a little grayer and a lot wiser.

Next door have a dog called Fred. When I was a kid we had a black lab called Ben and a Scottish Terrier called Scotty. Then we had a Shepherd called Lee because he was a rescue dog and very underfed, and when we took him home he looked "Lee Marvin". Human names for pets are so much better.

    Our cat is called Elvis.

Used to have a cat called "Bhubh" ("wuff" for ye non-Irish-speaking folks).

And another cat called Bríste. Who went on to be Briste, sans-fada, after an encounter with a car.

Apparently, a lot of dogs in Germany are called 'Kiera' (in an appaling example of abusing nice names for animals).
