Can someone tell me how sensitive laylandii roots are as one day someone came along and put a large pole in the ground about a foot and a half from the tree and well a week or 2 later noticed it was brown .

    any ideas ??

now i know some people hate these trees and well if planted in the wrong place they can be a menace.

    !!

If its brown , its dead because Laylandii will only grow from green part. You can also kill this pernicious weed by trimming back past green foilage.

Ah I feel better now :)

leylandiis have a shallow root system so most likely their roots got badly damaged and when they go brown they will never recover.
