I have a meteor modem - just wondering if it's possible to use three's midband service on the same modem?
I presume that 3 would provide a sim free or for a small charge?
Would I have to unlock the modem to use the other providers service?

You will have to unlock the modem then use the generic manufacturers software. Also I've tried to get a data sim only before from three and they refused saying they dont do data sim only.

A standard pre-pay SIM will work, you just buy the credit and then use that to buy the broadband add-on in your Three online account.

You will need the modem to be unlocked, but should be able to still use Meteor's software, as long as you change a few settings first. The things you need to change will be APN and a login username and password (if used). Not sure where you'll find them in Meteor's software, but it'll be there somewhere in settings.
