Would this work?

Wasn't sure whether to put it in Smoking, Shooting, or P.I. :P

So I chose AH, so what do ye think?

Also, anyone else got any weird theories?

Bullet casing would just fly out the tip of the cigarette, bullet wouldn't move much. Would probably blow the end off your smoke too.

Only if for some reason the person lighting it held the flame on it for 15 minutes and the smoke didn't burn down dropping the bullet out the end. So no, but I like the way you're thinking.

There's a reason why a percussion cap is called a percussion cap...:rolleyes: If the thing did fire, the round would just tumble.

Bullets are ignited by a steel pin piercing the bottom of the bullet.
It would probably take a lot of heating to fire the bullet.

Also, without a gun barrel the energy would be dispersed.

Oh, you probably wouldn't be able to killing yourself will that cigarette gun. As someone said there earlier you need a proper barrel to concentrate the energy. The bullet would move a little but not that far.

So does this mean that all those movies where the amo dump gets hit and bullets are heard zipping by are bogus.Actually I did think if a bullet was put in an open fire it would ,well, fire,is this not true?

No, the base of the bullet has a sweet spot with a percussion charge, which denotes if hit with enough force by the firing pin in the gun.
Enough heat would cause a bullet to fire too, but without a gun barrel it's like a little explosive charge, the force would go in all directions like a banger.
It probably won't fly off in the direction of the bullet.
