Checked Tesco Wilton again today - None in Hardware or at the customer service desk. The manager in the hardware section said they never got them in!

Might try Tesco in Sligo tomorrow.

If you find one will you please let me know, I won't get in untill after 7 so I'm hoping there is still going to be some. Probably won't be knowing my luck.

I just replaced the dodgy one for one that works. There are loads in Tesco in Thurles. I was there at 11.30 this morning.
    Regards.
    Tom.

This is a familiar refrain from them in Cork, poor poor level of understanding in the management of Tesco locally, suppose you can only aim higher.

Hopefully they will have more in soon, and that's it's not just a flash in the pan :pac:

Lucan will have an electrical delivery on Monday, *crosses fingers*

not that many people here are in the area, but just in case, dont bother with Carrick on Shannon OR Rosommon. I cleaned them out tonight:D
I don't agree with this kind of thing at all. It should be one per person. There's always some spoilsport out to buy them all up.

Erm... I don't like leaving empty handed, so as there was no HP ones, I got a 16GB SanDisk USB flash drive for €14.98 in Tescos in Maynooth. Not bad. There was another 8 there, and this was not a "special price", but I'd say they're in all the places.

Interesting enough, the price was only put on them once they realised all the 16GB HP ones were gone...

are the 16gb scandisks for €14.98??? i missed that

    None in Rathfarnham
    None in Nutgrove but
8 sorry 6 16gb now left in Tesco Dundrum at 7pm tonight.

When you get there, if there's none left, have a look behind the other boxes as I left 2 behind the boxes for boards members to find ;)

Damn you .. saw this after i checked .. and saw that another boardie got it .... :(

Just to note, they're slow. Not slow for small or large files, just.. slow.

Snoop around on Amazon for reviews. The chip controller differs from the old Cruzer line Sandisk were selling.

The Tesco price is cheaper than UK retail or online though. Not a bad price at all, just don't expect stellar transfer speeds.

The HP drives for sale in Tesco are PNY rebranded thumb drives. Nothing wrong with that. A lot of brands buy in product runs from other manufacturers and rebrand them. Simple as that.

Quite probable that PNY branded sticks (the exact same!) are sold alongside these. I do remember Tesco stocking the PNY brand in the past, I'm quite sure they still do.

I've had two PNY drives for years with perfect performance. I'd be happy to buy more of that brand.
