Allows me to blow a chunk of my money on photography/airsoft/pc etc.
Even off the smokes is saving me €80 a week...:D

Bloody 'ell. Now I'm definately glad I don't somke or drink. As well as being healthier (and no days wasted recovering) I'm saving a fair bit! €200 to €300 a week? Thats crazy!!

I used to drink an absolute lorry-load, but then I realised (as well as the raging health implications) I was nearly always recovering from open-wallet surgery afterwards... So I've cut down a lot. If I have 5 pints in a week now, it's a rare thing.

But not much more, not much more.

Obscure, but i fcukin love it!

RE the question, its been quite a while since ive spent anything on either drink or drugs, but at my peak id say it was an average of 150-200 a week. Pretty shockin now that i write it down and never to be repeated i shouldn't think!

    During the ka-boom years would of been €150 - 200 a week.

Nowadays probably averaging less than 20 yo yo's. Maybe even a tenner.

To tell the truth though - i don't miss it that much and am a lot healthier for it - one of the few upsides of the recession i spose.

I don't drink much, so some weeks it is zero - I'd probably spend max €100 per month & that'd be on a big night out, but even at that, some months I wouldn't bother.

When I'm on holidays or at a festival, I'd drink every night.

Drugs - the odd bit of weed, up to €100 max per year. A few pills/ lines every now & again on a night out, usually exchanged for a pint.

Fags - about fifteen quid a week.

It's a multiple choice poll, if you don't spend any on drugs then you don't click any of the drugs options.

OK - if that's the case then I'm going blind, because I see no drugs options.

Drink : maybe about €15 on an average week, €50 if I was out
Drugs : if we're talking illegal stuff, then I'm not that much of an idiot

No need to take drugs when you're already high (up on your horse). ;)

Alcohol is considerably more damaging to you than cannabis, E or LSD. The matter of whether you are that much of an idiot or not would therefore still be up for debate.

Ooops! I forgot this was After Hours where snide personal comments are tolerated.

Buying moderate amounts of alcohol does not support the criminal underworld.

The kind of snide comments that infer that people who take drugs are idiots?

    Quite right.
There is no relationship between alcohol and crime.

Oh, I forgot - it's "cool" and perfectly sensible to head out and meet a criminal to give him money so that he can buy a hand-gun or AK-47 in his efforts to maintain control of the local drug-trade

Neither does all drug taking. Never heard of home grown?

Ah Liam come on, after a hard day's complaining on AH about drug lord scumbags and whatever innocent person they've gunned down this week, sure you'd have to go and snort a line or two just to stay sane don't you know. ;)

Comments based on ignorance, such as the ones you made above are why drugs are not legalised - which in turn is the reason that drug lord criminals exist and why guns are becoming so common in our society

So in fact you are supporting the criminal underworld by making said comments

What Macsimus said above sums it up.. You don't have a notion of what you're talking about.

OK then, fill me in (although probably on another thread, so that this one doesn't go off-topic).

Are you both seriously saying that there are no violent criminals involved in supplying the drugs that so many people on this thread seem happy to admit taking ?

No, that is clearly not what we are saying. We are simply pointing out that the reason these violent criminals exist is because drugs (many less harmful than alcohol) are illegal.

If people could pull their heads out of their arses and deal with the facts, rather than the 'reefer madness' type hysteria then we could legalise the less harmful drugs and do some real damage to the violent criminal gangs.

During college, <50 on drink and normally nothing on drugs. Summer, <50 on drink and 50-100 on drugs.

I could show you a few nightclubs which would give you cause for a bit of a rethink on that one.

A fair enough point (unless maybe we are talking about homegrown) but do you drive a car and do you know how much blood was spilt in procuring the oil to fill your tank ?
