OPel Corsa Engine Electronics

Hi the engine electronics light came on yesterday in my corsa the car thugged for a bit then a lose of power then the light went off then kept coming back on every 10 r 15 mins. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be could it have anything to do with the battery? Thanks.
