Revert to stock keyboard on a Desire?

Hey, I have a desire, I'm not a fan of the HTC keyboard that it comes with. Looking at the videos/pics of 2.2 they all showed the normal stock keyboard which looks like it'd suit me a lot more than the HTC one.

Is there a way to revert back to it? I can't seem to find anything online about it...

Im sure someone can give you the android apk for it and you could install it manually with astro manager.

however, while it may look better - the stock android keyboard is not I assure you ;) try the htc_ime_mod which is a modified version of the htc one!

I have installed this on my Desire but failed to get the keyboard to display. The default keyboard is used the whole time - Am I doing something very stupid here?

---> ignore, got it working, had to press long on input place to activate keyboard -looks good so far
