Remove Vodafone Icons etc. when Using 3G?

Is there any way to do this? I presume its slowing down the browsing by having these icons and they get in the way and make the viewable space smaller as well. I'm using a HTC Desire

Remove the proxy setting from the 'Vodafone Live!' APN (go to "Settings > Wireless and Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > Vodafone Live! > Proxy" and delete the IP address there).
