hmmm something is telling me to go to bed too....my good sense, I don't listen to it most of the time :pac:

Well I didn't ask if you were young and cool anyway, obvious answer is obvious.

What do you do, MoN? Just curious
Studying Sports Therapy and Reflexology in a plc college here in Dublin, have some of my last exams in 2 hours :) It was great fun but I have DCU and Carlow as my No1 and 2 on CAO :D

Now to get offered a place...

    <_<

The teacher was painfully shy though, her disciplining method for other people was to pull a silent but dignified sad face.
I like to think yelling at me was therapeutic for her. :P

An hour tops. I have a really unnaturally good memory though. If I see something written down it usually sticks.
It can freak people out, because I'll met them once and remember what we were talking about years later. Like a crazy stalker lady.
I'd say it was mildly therapeutic aye. but knowing you then that would all come flying back in her face :p And with wour freaky memory you could always win arguments like that about stuff that happened...
You know you'll kick ass! I will beat you if I see you online again though :P
    Good luck!
*holds kitten in the air* Dont make me do it...I'll hug it so much you'll cry!!

    Thanks :)

I think engineering can vary a lot between colleges, depends whether you want the more practical side of things versus theoretical. A friend of mine did mech in trinity and covered a lot of similar stuff to me in the beginning, same maths etc but it wouldn't like this everywhere.
I guess that could be said for most courses, but as long as you have a good interest in it, then I dont think it really matters in the end:)

    G'luck!
    Thanks :)
I'm actually looking at it that way. Going to college to get some skills and then doing something with those skills.
Tbh I'd rather be self employed at some stage in my life anyway.
And just there you explained the best thing you could have...college is all about learning those skills, its then up to you to put them to good use and make a life for yourself :)

And you already have the ambition, do your best!

Ye I found it way back in my youtube faves, girl in it doesn't annoy me at all, think its just the more operatic sounding voices that grate on me. Although they could have showed more of the band

I don't never talk with no double negatives neither.

I think DCU have a really good rep for that, is it athletic therapy and training or sports sci and health? I think they're some of most sought after courses in dcu, thank god for unpopularity of physics :P

Athletic Therapy...only 3 places in Ireland are offering it:) Would be highly popular I figured, only 25 places available which sucks:( Ah sure physics would be popular enough with people interested in math I'd say...or would they go for engineering courses instead?

    Awesome news that!:)

I thought today that I sucked at my practicals, I've been told differently though so don't know what to believe:( However I got handed my pool lifeguard certificate soon after that so I got me a happy:)

What was the final test to be a lifeguard like? I was too young to take it so they wouldn't let me /give up

I did enjoy the swimming in clothes and making them into floats and dragging people in the pool and cpr...did I mention I was the only guy in a class of 20 :pac:

Had to line up all night to get into those classes every year grumble grumble

I think engineering is way more popular coz engineers get jobs yadda yadda, not really I think.
If I had finished my course when I was supposed to I would be the only one in the class, ye that class really fell apart, so many drop-outs and people switching to applied physics.

    I can't swim :(

applied physics as in...what more practical stuff.

    Time to learn!
Swimming is so much fun...I ca remember my first time in a pool and just jumping in the deepend as a little 'un'...thank god I somehow knew how to float lol
    /dead

We had a whole semester to do a journal paper, poeple working on it for months...we left it to the last day, as in for months our project just wouldn't work, and just wrote something off the top of our heads and did grand from results today, muahahaha.

Well in dcu there's PHAs and the APs :P
There are also some physics with a language but that's hugely unpopular and they usually ending up jumping into one of the other ones before the end (actually think that one was cut now), I think there's another new one too physics with biomedical science but we'll forget about those.

PHA = cool people, more girls, special linux lab codes ooooo

AP = huh what's GR  oooo semi-conductors soo interesting, they do get more boring subject choices though and woo lasers.

They're basically very similar, they don't touch our astronomy stuff and we don't touch their boring nanotechnology and semiconductors terminology, just so many people switch to applied but I never heard of anyone switching to astronomy, that is the fault of one lecturer in particular though.

oh ye, swimming.........well I can not drown, I just can't swim properly, can't even remember when I was last in a swimming pool, the chlorine kills me
    Beach is good though.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 60,119 Mod ✭✭✭✭Tar.Aldarion

Bitta physics and french is what I would like! Biomedical engineering is the girl engineering in nuig. In the rest there were about two, shared.

girls and linux lab codes :D

God semiconductors, spent far too long on them, designing them by hand with colouring pencils in an exam and all UGH...turned down a phd about lasers in dcu, borrring. :P

Oh, I'd love nanotechnology stuff. That stuff'll make you live forever that will.
Yeah the lecturers fault, I read it in my cancer sign today.

In secondary school our pool was more chlorine than water..you'd come out stinging. Hehe thought you said bleach is good though for a while

I think doing physics with a language is retarded, english is the language of science, any postgrad I've looked at in Europe, it's all taught through english.

Well not that there's many girls or anyone for that matter lol but still seem to always be more in pha.

Ye I can see how that stuff would have been interesting too, ah not gona bother now :pac:

I don't know what pools are like these days but I have clear memories of my eyes burning out of my head, puts me off them.

Yeah all those ladies no wonder you had to queue for it;) My class this year was mostly female too:) The swimming parts were fun and only took an hour! Theory exam sucked, so much writing...

Ouch...last one in the class? that would have sucked especially in group projects haha! Dont worry that you can't swim, lots of others cant.

Beach is nice, too salty she says though:pac: Is nice trying to boogie board in the sea, done that in America once.

Testing the physics involved with something French? ;)
Hehe thought you said bleach is good though for a while
But it is! (from what I've seen)

Aye, all thems physics studenties dunno wtf they are upta loike :pac: Ah learning something like physics with Japanese would be AWESOME!!
I don't know what pools are like these days but I have clear memories of my eyes burning out of my head, puts me off them.
The badly run ones will still have eye-melting levels of chlorine in them as they are too lazy to adjust the levels like you are meant to (EVERY HOUR).

Um, jsut to know another language loike.
Oh you like it now too, coincidence. :pac:

Well a lot of pools are fine, and I mostly swim with goggles anyway, jsut like it much more. Swim in the sea, feckin' cold that it is! Might be nice after all these sunny days.

Did you have to go out in a lake or anything, not fun! One time there was another guy in my class so I was paired with him for the test...he was like 5 times my weight and I had to swim like a fecking mile with him haha, finished so much after everybody else!

    Nice, on both counts lol
I also got a text waking me this morning and was like sleepily, ugh another pm. :pac:
Testing the physics involved with something French? ;)
Fine language that, good culture, I must go back ;)

great series, not much of a story just boom pretty fights

Wanted to do japanese but they wouldn't teach it, same as with Russian so did french, c'est ca.

hehe I just dled pendulums album and as I got it a little hotmail popup came up saying I got an email....from pendulum...lol!

haha in my head they just play with lasers all the time, probably not at all really.
Beach is nice, too salty she says though:pac: Is nice trying to boogie board in the sea, done that in America once.

The salt does annoy me sometimes
Used to go to Silver Strand in Wicklow with the cousins, that's a lovely beach.

uhoh took me a while to get this, must adjust my superiority complex :pac:

oh no can't be having that, just bad memories of eyes and skin, I'll just be over here drowning thanks.

Well ye it's only good when the weather is, least there's something for me to do other than swimming like jumping waves :pac:

I was woken up by a bird hitting into the window, thought it was in the room for a second, I saw scenes from The Birds in my head

Any use? If you've had time to have a reaction to it that is!

Lasers things are generally not as fun as they appear...unless it's holographic technology mmm!

    Also holodecks ^_^

Sraoide(sp?) beach in sligo is great, loved bodyboarding there as wee un, one day there was like no waves, well i was jumpin gover the little ones like, looking in towards the beach...turn around and there is like a 20 foot wave right there, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! dived under it lol. huuuuuuge

But beach we always went to in sligo:

    P1060084.jpg

You could just go a mile up this big dune and sprint down it until you fell and rolled the rest. or just get a serious look on your face and drop to the ground and roll all the way from the top.

My old dog Matisse was great fun a the beach, first time I brought him there up on a dune he put his paw out over the edge of a drop and was like hmmm, this ground doesn't appear to work...thought about it for a while...more pawing...and just walked off into the air falling, all confident like.
uhoh took me a while to get this, must adjust my superiority complex :pac:
But you are a half physicist...even the full ones have nothing to be proud of ;)

Better than a scene from arachnophobia anyway!(or The Tale of Despereaux
    for you) good films hehe

Was just watching a film so am just starting it now, others tell me they like it.

    holograms <3

I lolled at your dog, that reminds me of the beaches in Liverpool, loads of sand dunes, silver strand is all cavey which is good too and there's a campsite there, haven't been in years. I don't see you in the pic though, maybe it's my eyesight :P

I badly need some german for germany soon, this is all I know...

    Sprechen Sie Englisch? nein? fcuk

    no, nein deutsch, fcuk

bier and ja and bitte and danke.

Although Rammstein teaches me a little bit heh heh heh

    Yes birds are better.

    Does she

and dragons two! Rolled into one...a friend is doing a masters in hologramy stuff in sweden, I have to visit!

Great dog, it was funny to watch him clime ladders....and he won the award for dog you would most like to take home in that dog show we went to

Ooooh caves, I love caves! Haha we went to the marble arch caves on 5 million school tours. I would love to camp on the beach, love camping with friends in general but have never been on a beach.

Funny that, and I can't see you in your pic really either. maybe it's my eyesigt :p
Sure thats me on on the dune...look at the dot...well could be!

Do they speak much english over there? All the germans I talk to have great English
Seems your german is as good as mine..

Yeah, they taught me your name.
I love birds /reply to everything check

Yeah it's funny because on my steam profile it's just a pic of me and masterofnothing...and it's a game with at least 90% dudes...and how am I pretending..I'm just shooting you!

oh deadly, ye northern europe seems pretty good for courses, no fees in sweden either? I think, although expensive to live there.

In that dog show we went to lol!

Well the campsite is on a big grassy area and then you go down a load of steps to the beach.

    yes convenient.

Actually I found all the older people in shops and stuff hopeless but all the younger people have it so it's grand, sure they're so super organised with everything there it's no hassle. And at that festival lot of swiss, french people etc too, plus they'd still probably talk to you more than english people :pac:

/not necessarily replying to everything check

umm they said it through the game or what? lol me trying to understand games.

No fees yeah, that's why he is there. I might like there, expensive I hear though yeah. But sure...eh look at us.

Nobody wanted to take me home. :p

ah, well I want to be in the sand nomnom...then you can like bury yourself and fun things like that.

    Very.

Yeah same most places I'd say, all young people in these countries have a good grasp of english. Well most the time...lots of memories at pointing to a glass cabinet in paris...and him going off to get a girl who also didn't speak english but understood pointing better.
They do seem more friendly, open, loquacious etc in general.

Yeah in the game itself or else on ventrilo(program where you hold a button on the keyboard and then you can talk to people while it is held down) or in steam itself(assumes no knowledge), a program where you can see what all your friends are doing from your friends list, if they are online, are they playing, what are they playing etc you can also chat...fridns list right, talking left :P
