Blank page at the start of each exam

    Due to the whole mix up with the LC english papers last year, this year a blank page will be at the front of every exam and NOBODY can turn over the blank page and start the exam until ALL papers have been distributed.
    This is for both JC and LC.

    Teachers told us DONT FREAK OUT BECAUSE YOU SEE A BLANK PAGE.

    I'd fúckin prefer if all the pages were blank i wouldn't freeak out:D

    I haven't heard anything about that!

    I haven't heard anything about that. It will add cost to the SEC as previously 16 page examination booklets (based on A3 pages) will now have to be 20 pages to allow for a blank page.
    Where did you hear it?

    They'd save a lot of money by just doubling the font size on the package the papers come in :p

    Lol. And what about handouts or photocopied booklets you get with one page that should be blank, but in the middle it has written "This page was left intentionally blank" erm.. it's not blank now lol

    Where did you hear it?

    Principal received a letter from the SEC on Friday explaining that the front page will be blank....just imagine how much it would cost if another mistake like last year happened again? Alot more than adding 1 extra blank page :p

    What a ludicrous response to a once off situation. Sledgehammer and nut.

    I must have a look for that letter tomorrow and see what genius decided on such a waste of paper.

    SEC is not that daft, folks. Perhaps you should read the actual circular letter:

    There won't be any "blank page" at the front. What's happening is that in the very few cases where Q1 previously started on the front page (i.e. on the cover), it will now be moved inside. The circular seems to suggest that none of the exams concerned will need extra paper in order to do this.

    It seems pretty sensible to me. On the off chance that a superintendent starts handing out the wrong paper, it's better to have everyone staring at the front of it rather than the back while they're waiting, since someone is bound to spot that it's the wrong one, and they can be collected before anyone opens them.
