I presume that's not The Sub in Walkinstown??

Never heard of TP Smyth's either-where's that.

Someone had suggested The Woolshed(i think that's what it's called) previously. Is that any use?

The sub lounge is a bar underneath Tara street dart station €3.60 for all pints

TP Smyths is at the back of the Jervis Centre on Abbey Street, loads of boards functions have been held there

    The Woolshed added to poll

oops, ok just realised if you have voted in the poll already you cant vote again for any of the new additions to the poll.

So if you have already voted and wish to add your vote to a newly added venue just post on thread "(New venue) newly added venue +1 vote" and I'll add your vote to the poll

Just a tip, if the world cup thing is still going on up until the 26th, The Woolshed will more than likely be showing some matches...especially on a Saturday!

Will +1 on Messr's, RB's, TP Smiths or Bull & Castle, all good hosts for previous beers

No World cup match taking place on the 26th!

I think awaits post that tells me I'm wrong

    Messrs Maguire for the win!
Cheap pints! (Mmm, Bock.) Friendly atomosphere and easy enough to get to!
    Count me in!

Sub Lounge is a big no-no from me. The last few times I've been there it's taken forever to get served. No point having cheap drinks if there's no bar staff serving.

    :D:D:D

I don't think I'll vote on this...I'm kinda happy to go along with whatever's the most popular. Ron Blacks was a good spot, but would prefer if we had the back area. Would be happy enough to go somewhere new though, haven't been to most of those pubs before.

They don't do Bock anymore :(

Took them ages to bring in a suitable replacement as well. They've got a nice strong home brew ale called "Munich" now.

Oh,i've just realised i was thinking of The Elephant and Castle, which is why i didn't vote for The Bull and Castle.
    So +1 for that too!
    sorry!

    The woolshed :)

Did ye order any platters the last time in ron blacks?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,080 ✭✭✭McChubbin

They don't do Bock anymore :(

My face upon hearing this horrifying news
WHY?! Bock was utterly glorious! (Granted, all their home brews were but that one was the balls!) Feck that! My second choice is the Woolshed, then- if only because they're only place I know of that are happy to make a fully pitcher of White Russians.

    But...but the Bock.

Why is the Bock gone?! D:

Wasn't there some disquiet the last time after Ron Blacks. Too cramped where the boardsie's were?

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 14,324 CMod ✭✭✭✭The Master

Such big numbers were not expected so the area Ron blacks had reserved was a little cramped, as ibarelycare has said if we go back there we can request a bigger space.

    IMPORTANT NOTE:

It looks like there will be a world cup game on Saturday 26th and it could more than likely be England who are playing in it.The match is kicking off at 7.30 so if were all meeting up around 8 or 9 the game will still be on in most places.
So that might be something to consider when casting your vote.

For all the non Dublin Boardsie's going, what pubs don't have big screens etc?

Capitol, Ron Blacks and The Sub lounge don't show sports I think

Ron Blacks do... but I think I only saw screens up by the bar as you go in.

Just throwing this out there but what about Bruxilles? I hear that's a good spot for a shindig...

    Ron Blacks again?
We can easily reserve more space this time.

Bruxilles has become an awful spot. Used to be my favourite haunt but over the past year or so I'd be bitter about buying a bag of crisps. let alone a pint.
