i think my ps3 has a virus

    can someone please tell me what might be wrong. .

    i would be playing a game then i would lose sound and then the ps3 would freeze it works grand not playing a game. this is a problem i have been downloading music and dvds im not sure if that is the problem

    Is it just when you play MW2 ?

    are the disks damaged in any way ?

    If not , im afraid its not a virus , your PS3 had come to the end of the road :mad:

    There are no known Viruses for PS3 or Xbox or the likes considering the fact that the virus writer would have to own an SDK for each console to be able to develop one and then would have to get either Sony or Microsoft to sign the code... which would never happen.

    You sound like you're getting symptoms of a precursor to the Yellow Light of Death I'm afraid.

    Is it a launch model by any chance?

    its not a launch model and its only about a year old its the slim. . . so basicaly i have to get a new ps3

    if the games are not damaged and the PS3 has no sound/freezing its YROD

    You might still be under warranty though

    Same thing happined to mine before it stopped working. Think it was the bluray lens.

    I had the same problem. It'll cost you 80-100 euro to get if fixed unless you do it yourself. Guides on how fix it are on Youtube.

    I think there would be no harm moving this thread to the Playstation forum as it is not specifically MW2 related.

    More people would have experience of a similar problem and might be able to recommend a repair company etc.

    tried it still the same

    anyway the ps3 is still under warranty so i can get a new one
