How to get a registered barcode?

    So...

I'm in the final week of recording my debut CD - ready for the mixing to begin, then onto mastering and duplication - and I'm dreaming big. :)

I'm writing my letters to join IMRO, I know I'll need an IRSC code (PPI didn't answer my 3 emails, so I'm going to call them tomorrow, and hopefully get somewhere) - and I know that I'll need my very own registered barcode.

Only problem is - I'm not sure how to go about that. I googled it and found a site that'll sell me one - but a friend who has done this before said that's not needed, I can make up my own...then I found a site that'll make me one for free...but if I go the do-it-myself- route, will that be official and internationally recognized and all that?

Anyone who has done this before, please advise me, as I am wrecking my head over this!

    Thanks!

    Here:

    Daniela Bindl dbindl@ppiltd.com

    Give her these details....

    Name
    Record Company/Label
    Address
    Phone
    Email
    Artist Name
    Album Title/Track List

Thats it then, all free and job done....

Might as well go direct as all the duplications guys are going there anyway.
