Busking - my own stuff

Hi guys.
I have a thread in the Galway section and I was told I should stick a separate thread here to get feedback on my music. So I made this

Hi man , nice music. i'll give you my honest critique as you asked for:
The songs are well written and arranged, and you have a nice playing style and voice.
Your voice is a little weak though in places, Not that your not hitting the right notes, you seem to be perfect in that department, just a little quite on the street, needs a bit more umph in my mind.
These songs are nice, but for me they are a little too nice, its very "safe" music and almost sounds like cheesy american country in parts, Personal taste is everything and to be honest its not my cup of tea, Maybe a bit more rocky and try be a bit more creative with your ryhming schemes , hour-flower-power really is cringe worthy in my opinion!

Dont get me wrong you have talent, and balls doing what you do, its not easy! and you can write and perfom music to a good standard, but if you want to make it in any way you gotta be a bit less safe and nice, a bit more powerful and Raw and a little less tacky.
Anyway, I would definatly through ya a few sheckles on the street, and stop and listen for a while, I do like ya and appreciate what your doin.
Hope you can see this as an opinion and not meant in any way offensive.

Ive been playing in bands both pro and original or 10 years now, so Ive plenty of experience and Im just giving you my honest critique.

keep it up man!! remember the Ultimate critic of your music is always the streets and the people, you gotta Rock them, move them, suprise them, and wow them to make it anywhere, and playing it too safe and nice wont get you far.
Anyway plenty of potential keep it up!

Hey man, nice to see a fellow Galway busker. I busked shop street a few times a week for about two years up until about last December, always with mixed results. I used to busk day and night and there's a big difference. If I was busking during the day I noticed that originals always went down way better along with obscure covers. At night time stuff like Oasis and better known numbers go down well. In terms of money night time was always better but people are always more appreciative when they're sober during the day when they hear something they like.

As for your songs, the music is sweet and relaxed but the lyrics are cringeworthy as the previous fellow noted. When I'm writing lyrics I keep at them and at them and try and avoid cliches but maybe I'm being naive. Also on a different note, were you the man that played the first open mic night in the Oslo bar before Christmas and I borrowed your guitar when mine broke a string. If so Thank you very much. If not discard this comment.

guitareaxe: thanks dude! I totally understand where your comming from. I used to do a lot of drawing and i always found when you leave something and comeback to it you see all the errors you made, I can't really do that with music so I will definitely revise some lyrics. I've been kind of keeping them "safe" to fit a general crowd but maybe they do need to be a bit more edgy. Much appreciated!

Doomeus: YEAH! that was me! haha. fair play for recognising me! and no problem, I'd do it for any honest musician.
I've thought of trying the night scene but I have always been busy going out haha.

As both of you said, I will definitely work on the cheesyness of the lyrics. IF theres anyone to say they can improve its me, I've got a lot of time to do it!
