17 yo cyclist barred from buying a cycle puncture repair kit, in case he would get high on the glue

Sounds familiar, high street shops dealing in psychoactive Substances.

Can we see cycle shops here banned from selling repair kits.

Its absolutely true, I used to work on the checkouts for them. They won't sell knives to young people either, though I can understand that. They also won't allow you to purchase two packets of paracetamol in the same transaction, in case you try to OD. Kitchen foil too I think is a restricted item, though not 100% sure on that, its been a few years sincce I worked there. The spoon restriction stuck in the memory though!

I have been victim to the tesco spoon rule. I was buying a tub of ben and jerry's and a packet of spoons, and was told that I would have to produce ID because we "might do drugs with them."

Absolutely ridiculous, nobody understands the concept of personal responsibility anymore.

I used to be addicted to making model airplanes and the like when I was young.

"he loves making them models yolks so he does, keeps him quiet for hours" old folks would say as I'd be sitting in the corner gluing a plane together inside out with my eyes bugging out of my head.
The only peep they'd hear out of me was a moan for more glue. They thought I was just really bad at making them because it took 4 tubes of glue to make a 12 piece jigsaw. "No scumlord, you don't glue the lego together love" mammy would say. "but it'll fall apart when I try to fly it in my dreams mammy" scumlord would say from underneath the couch.

You can be damn sure when this new micro chipped ID card comes through it will have to be swiped every time you purchase anything that is registered on the data base system considered "harmful" It would include, glues, petrol, solvents, cigarette lighters, spray deodorants etc. At a checkout the product would be denied if there was an issue with your age or previous record.
