In a weird way, the business side of things are now looking good for Walt.
    - The cartel have been dealt a major blow and won't be back anytime soon
    - He got rid of Gayle and has Jesse back onside so he won't be discarded by Gus (in the shortterm anyway)
    - Hank will be out of action for a good while so his investigation will be slowed down, that is unless his colleagues step it up

Obviously though his personal life is in bits.

Loving this season. Without doubt one of the finest shows on tv. The last few epsiodes have been amazing. Although this weeks episode was far less paced there were great character scenes. Gus hides his true intentions really well. He's a great character.

Wasn't really a fan of the cousin crawling along the floor to Walt. What was he going to do when he reached him? Stare him to death?

In addition to the tension the dragging injected into the scene, the first time (I think) we met these guys the crawled across the ground to the priest.

The last two episodes overall have been great. Lots of comedy involving Jessie.

No doubt about it. We saw his handy man discard of what I think is a used syringe.

    Gus is badass

i thought this episode came together a bit too well.

first, how long has gus been planning this whole thing?
and how many things have had to go the way he wanted for it to work out?

cousins have to be killed by hank or shortly after otherwise mex cartels figure out gus said they could do it.

mex cartel leader also has to be killed.

him being able to produce and sell meth instead of buying from the cartel is contingent on him being able to find a way to stop the cartel shipping to him without a war which is all dependent on the above going off smoothly.

i hope breaking bad doesnt jump the shark:rolleyes:

Also the Mexican drug federation practically murdering the cartel boss.

What threat could he possibly be to a group of people that murdered someone in a hospital full of cops?

As for that Gus could have had someone in the hospital on the payroll.

yeah i forgot about that part. a bit mad alright.

and whats with the snapping phones in half bit? couldn't they just take the sims out?

-although on second thought they could be those phones that come without sims. still though.

yeah i dont think gayle will be too happy collecting his p45

Think phones have other identification bit transmitted apart from the sim (like the imei number) so it was to go too.

I thought that was quite good, Gus distracting call the cops away with the free grub so Mike could work away knowing that the cause of death wouldn't be obvious until he was gone.

only 5 episodes left in this season now :(

    wow, wtf.

Thought it was a great episode until the end.
    Craziness.
    Jumping the Shark?
I was cringing throughout as Skylar spoke

Ah I don't know about that. Certainly not the best of things to do but not that bad all the same.

Interesting scenario with Gus. It would seem that he is willing to have Walt work for him indefinitely and protect him while he is doing so but I get the impression that once he is no longer part of his business, that's the end of all protection too. He's lured Walt in far enough that he's now playing in the big leagues and won't be able to exist without the protection of a much bigger player than he.

IIRC Vince Gilligan pitched Breaking Bad as "Mr Chips become Scarface".

I don't know if that is still the arc that he has in mind but if it is then at some point Walt is going to have to take out Gus and assume his place.

    Worst episode ever

Genuinely I thought that was terrible. I don't fast forward my favourite shows, but I couldn't listen to Skylar's Deus Ex Machina for a second longer. Has Cranston got some gripe whereby now he'll only appear in a small number of speaking scenes. So much Skylar and Marie. That scene in the kitchen and Ted arrives. It might be setting something up, but the writing there was terrible.

And then the scene with Brandon and dying looking boy at group. Pathetic. So Jesse is going to sell his .3 of a pound to the people in the group and get them hooked again. Sounds like a winner of a plot there. No holes at all in that one. The 2 friends of Jesse are struggling to act at the best of times and now watching them act at acting was painful in the extreme.

In summary, that episode was a complete bust. I was hoping it was a dream when Skylar mentioned gambling. Even something as faggy as that would have made up for this terrible direction. And then for Walt, the king of men - a genius, to tell Skylar that it was a brilliant scheme that she had come up with. Are we believing that in all the time Walt was keeping his drug manufacturing from his family that he couldn't come up with something as intricate as, he won the money gambling....

Cheese and rice it was bad

I hope to forget it happened and that next week will bring better.

At least I have Dexter to look forward to. :(

Some awful long speeches in that one, might give it another try when I'm not so shattered.

Whats up with Jessie? I know he's supposed to be brainless but I don't understand where his story is going, hes not happy with the 1.5m so he's thinking selling to people in rehab? Not wanting to launder money? I guess I'll have to see where it goes. Maybe he wants to end up in jail (guilt and all that).

I think he will be Walts downfall.

He's not happy with feeling that he's being screwed over. First he felt that Walt was doing it to him. Now he feels that Gus is screwing him over. Saul's cut is too high, especially next to Walt's so again he feels he's being screwed with.
He wants to be in charge, not reporting to those people who will pull one over on him or look down on him (like his family or even his woodwork teacher). So he's trying to take charge and do his own operation to show that he doesn't need others to be successful and that you can't keep pulling fast ones on him.
Of course he's not really smart enough to pull this off and yeah, he could be Walt's downfall. However, Walt has already forgiven Gus for going after Hank - I don't think he'll really care if Jesse is taken out. He may even ask for it himself if Jesse jepordises the operation.

I doubt people in rehab per se, he just wants to get the word around that the blue sh|t is back. What better place to start than a room full of recovering junkies.

By the wa, if Jesse calls someone a "bitch" one more time I'd breaking the 4th wall and kicking him the head.
    Lay off that sh|t m8!

Hmm the show seems to be sort of lacking direction. Still love it but there just seems to be excellent moments thrown in with very mediocre plots. One thing that annoys me is what the hell is the story with Jesse's character? I mean he started off as a complete dick but then we start to sort of like him as we see his tortured side and his deep down down sense to better himself. I really thought things were going somewhere until all of a sudden, bang, he's back to wigger brain dead chump.

Its like the show sometimes writes itself from week to week, and yes I agree the gambling thing is pretty weak indeed. I really hope this doesn't turn in to much. Also hoping the show doesn't turn too much in to a family drama with Hank having to go through rehab and stuff but I guess this is inevitable. I predict he'll be back in the hot seat by the time Gus's operation has exploded.

Things I would love to see less of is Jesse with his two clown friends, Skyler's stupid romance with Ted, and Hanks head wrecking wife! Walt though is amazing and I really like Gus too. This is probably the only show I have ever seen that can literally be both amazing and quite **** at times.

There was a full pound in the difference between what he quoted Walt and what was on the scales.

Anyway, I didn't think it was that bad. I didn't like Skylar and Marie talking so much, but the gambling explanation is a good way to explain their situation and the money. I hope the story moves back between Walt and Jesse now, as that's where all the real action is going to be. The stuff between Walt and Skylar is all a bit annoying.

Jesse is annoying little turd, and a stupid moron to boot, but the story (and show) wouldn't be anything without him.

I guess Walt is coming around to viewing things the way Gus views them now. He understands the strategy, which could mean that instead of rewarding Jesse in future, he may consider something more drastic when trying to keep him under control.

I definitely agree. Jesse is a moronic hothead. Walt has tried to be good to him but his immaturity always seems to be the biggest threat to the whole operation.

I also got the feeling that Hank might have been lying when the doc was prodding his legs? Anyone else get that?

Yup, was expecting a "Yes." followed by "I didn't touch you that time."

I wonder will Hank finally find out about Walt just as he makes a full recovery because he had the best care money can buy.

Then he realises that it all came from drug money.
Will really fk around with his head.

The Breaking Bad soundtrack was released yesterday. To say it's diverse would be an understatement, yo.

I think I'll grab the extended main theme for my ring tone. :)

Best show yet, dare I say better than Dexter in terms of consistency and style?

Yes Just watched all the shows and im now up to date, its such compulsive viewing.
I think Walter and Jessie on being screwed over, i mean Gus is making close to 96 million for the 3 months work that they have put in and they only get 3 million between them, they should at least be getting 25% to 30% and i think Walter is seriously becoming pissed off with this as well, like in the scene when he met Gus and afterwards he was crazy on the road driving, id say its because he thinks he is being screwed over.
