Are you colour blind?

This is a famous type of colour blindness test, and I fail spectacularly.

Its for red-green colour blindness, but other types exist, look at the wikipedia article if you are interested.

The stats are 7-12 percent of males will fail the above linked image test, depending on geographic location and prevelance yadda yadda, women by comparison should not have trouble seeing the numbers.

If you can see one number, you are like me, colour blind, two number, colourblind but less so, and all six, you are not colour blind.

Computer monitor quality may be an issue but with most people I've shown this to, it works.

It would be a better test if the answers weren't all printed right beside the big colourful circle.

Absolutely, definitely, completely colour blind. Much like a lot of posters on here as we found out in the colour blind thread about a month ago.

We're all deformed freaks.

I know a few guys that went on to become electrician even though they are colour blind.
Got other people to take the colour blindness test for them.
Disgraceful carry on, has disaster written all over it.

Ah here, I don't see in b+w or sepia tone, faint variances in red versus green are difficult only.

Leccy wires are quite vibrant colours. (I'm not an electrician btw)

I had a test in primary test too and they said I was colour blind, so I knew already :pac:

Yeah I knew I was colorblind before this, failed the test going into the army, pretty gutting to be honest. I have dneutropia i think its called, anyone else fail the defense forces entrance on color blindness ?

I could see all 6, but I also read somewhere that on average, males between the ages of 15-24 who played Call Of Duty 4 a regular amount of time a day (At the time the test was conducted) could distinguish between over 50 different shades of grey!

Doubt that to be honest, sounds kind of like the treat parents used to stop their kids watching too much television "your eyes will go square"

I seem to recall reading that being very colour blind was an advantage in one way for the army. Apparently you would be better at spotting camouflaged objects as youre more likely to look for shapes and not rely on colour in the green spectrum?

I'm colourblind. Only got 2 of them pictures. I hate being colourblind. I remember in school that everyone would ask me 'What colour is that? What colour is that? What colour is that?' God it was so annoying

My brother is so colour blind that he didnt know the difference between blue and pink! It was scary like! eg oh day years ago my brother and I were in town and he met this couple who recently had a baby girl...the little one was wearing wearing everything in pink eg pram, top, hat ...you name it and he said what his name?!!! ohhh! I thought I want to die!!

I see three. Top left and top two right. So I'm a bit colour blind? Not too shocking. I've never been great wth green and brown. If they're not primary then they tend to be samey.

I see all six though the bottom left one is definitely harder to see than the rest.

I heard that too, you focus more on shape and shadows, so see silhouettes well.

Here's an interesting one, apparently people who have full colour vision can't see the number in this pic, being colourblind, I see it perfectly. Maybe same principle as camo?
