I voted Conservative, and while I would much rather have a purely Tory government than a coalition, I am still thrilled that that fat old one-eyed frogface has gone, and we finally have a classy and dashing PM that we an actually be proud of on the world stage. In the words of Elizabeth the First: "This is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes."
i take it you dont remember a mrs thatchers goverment ?

the poor/sick/old and homeless are always first to suffer under a tory leadership, unemployment[cheap labour] and alowing the rich to avoid paying taxes[as long as they donate to the conservative party] the selling of the much needed state owned council houses to the well of tories ,for a nominal free[since has been proved illegal]using the police as a politcal arm of the goverment,i could go on but you would have had to live under her goverment to understand

Yes I do. My ultimate dream would be for Thatcher to come back and be dictator of the world, but as that probbly won't happen, Cameron will have to be the next best thing.

The only people who will whinge about the Tories are those (of whom there are many in Britain today) who make a living off the dole when they are perfectly capable of working. As for the selling of council houses, thanks to Thatcher many less well-off people were able to buy their own homes and end up making some money which they would never have been able to do otherwise. I lived under Thatcher's government and my family did extremely well out of it.

I was there for the last few years, but the poor and the old have not been treated any better by Labour, who are just Tory lite.

they have had 13 years to reign in the Tory party excesses of the eighties but did nothing , we still have a major pension problem, NHS is still crap etc.

They had the good will to sort it out in 1997 but did nothing, we still have PFI, a shortage of social housing and the fat cats got fatter, and they want to bring ID cards in, lock up people for 12 weeks without charge , and backed a police force that shot an unarmed brazilan, arrested an old man for heckling Tony Blair using the PTA

Their is no difference between the Tories and Labour when it comes to being in power

Complete an utter waste of 13 years, Maggie love her or hate her changed society, Labour did nothing

Just remember that the money from council house sales under Maggie went to the government, leaving local councils carrying the debt that was originally raised to build theses houses

So the council ended up with no social housing, and no rent to service the debt from building the houses

One of the biggest con jobs ever

People who vote based on personality rather than policy deserve to have their voting rights taken away from them. Democracy is now a f**king joke. I'd rather a gunner-eyed, hunch-backed, drooling walrus who knew what he or she was doing than some grinning prat who changes what he or she says to please whoever is listening at that moment.

And if any politician uses the word 'change' again, they should automatically be struck off the ballot.

And David Cameron looks like a plasticine model of Tony Blair that the modeller gave up on half way through. Git.

I did not vote based on looks or personality, but it is still an added bonus that our PM isn't a total eyesore. Gordon was not only a drooling walrus-lookalike but a terrible PM in every way, and I would never vote Labour in a million years no matter who was standing for them. Let's not forget that the PM represents his people, and it was embarrassing to be represented by Gordon when compared to people who keep themselves in reasonable shape like Obama and Sarkozy.
