I used to do a few lessons in Portmarnock when I was 14 or so. Some guy called George was there - he told me how he did Mu Gen Do or something similar - it was pretty great.

I've lost what little I learned unfortunately but i'd love to start it up again (im 20 now)
anywhere in the north dublin area? preferrably close to Baldoyle but I can hop on the bus no worries.

just out from school for the summer before i have to fly back - dont want to waste the 3 months doing nothing.

You trained with George Canning in Portmarnock so.

Closest kickboxing to Baldoyle I can recommend is Mugendo in Chanel College in Coolock village, its a not a bad club.

I could also recommend dropping into Andy Ryan's club in Baldoyle Ind. Est. He doesn't do kickboxing, however so far as I know there's a Shan Shou club training there - and whilst your there you might as well have a look at what Andy has, it might grab your fancy.

Other than that, in Portmarnock where you used to train there's a Judo club with 4th dan black belt Ray Steers. Ray also has a purple BJJ belt so there's a lot of time given to ground work (newaza).

Another bus ride (I guess) would be Ray Butchers club in Clonsaught Ind Est. (defendu.ie).

Oh!, and Damien Dowdall has a very good Muay Thai club in Kilbarrack Ind Est. If you do a search here you'll find his contact details handy enough.

    Hope thats some help.
