Turn your computer off as well, then we'll all sleep soundly.

There are two things that i refuse to bring on holidays abroad....mobile and watch.

Fecking love it...not knowing the time, not being texted because of the most random stupid things. Brilliant! :D

I threw my phone into the sea last week as it wasn't reading my sim.
For the few days that I didn't have one it was bliss. No idiots texting me or ringing me.
The one thing I missed was the alarm. Few late mornings but oh well. I'd reccommend to everyone disposing of their phone in such a manner,it's very rewarding.

I don't use a mobile. But if people really really need me they can always ring me on the Bat-phone.

Ah yes if only my wife had that attitude. When i book our hols i try somewhere that phones dont work. I hate the dam things. I cant understand some people still sit in pubs/restraunts roaring into their phones. Thought that was a 90`s fad.

    Great thread op;)

I haven't used my mobile in over a year apart from a few occasions when I've been away and had no other way to contact anyone. I wish more people would stop using them as much as they do

I'd rather give it jack and Jill or some other charity. I'm no tree hugger, but throwing your phone into the sea is just wrong.

jeasus do you remember the bricks of mobiles that were out years ago, if you threw them in the sea, you would cause a tsunami. :)

I know but I have gotten so used to it now, I'm borderline ocd about having my phone with me and charged. My biggest problem is anytime I leave it down I always appear to get calls from private numbers so spend the next while try to figure out who called me, it can be quite distracting.

I'm always saying to lads at work that I cant understand how they can leave their phone at their desk and go off for hours. I would nearly always pick up my phone if I was walking to the printer and straight back to my desk.

I usually would, but there was no collection site near that sea and it was in the heat of the moment.

oh god I wouldn't answer private numbers anyway. I think maybe you should lend it to the tooth fairy for a while.

If people wish for me to answer the phone to them the least they can do is show their number so I have the option of choosing not to speak to them, knowing who it is.

As I said I would always answer a private number. For one thing I do get called by some land lines that are ex-directory so come up as private but more that Id drive my self crazy wondering who was calling if I didn't answer.

Also another reason I always keep my phone at hand is I get p***ed of the way people only answer the phone half the time as they don't keep an eye on it and I don't want to be guilty myself. I wonder why some people bother with a phone at all as they never bloody answer it.

I always get in trouble with exes nagging heh or missing important phone calls when my phone is off. It must stay on forever! That said it's approaching a decade in ages so the battery isn't the best and it goes off a lot. :p

Skype and a few other things come up private. If I've paid my bills, I'll answer a private number.

me too, I also hate ringtones with a passion, I always have my phone on silent, couldn't stand having to wonder everytime I hear a phone ring if that is mine. Except then I'm one of those annoying people that will have to call you back or send a call me to ring.
