Ray Kennedy of RTE News annoying?

Anyone else find Ray Kennedy of RTE News annoying? While speaking protractedly generally, today he said in a piece the ash cloud "set its sights" on some Irish flights - very Alan Partridge / Brass Eye like, as if the cloud has a mind of its own. And - he always wears the same manky black jacket with the lappels folded…

Wasn't he in TV3 previously? He that where is learned these skills?
