    Hi,

I'm considering buying an Ipod Classic 160gb but I've heard that there is a volume restriction on certain models.

Some websites say that those bought in the EU have a volume limit lower than those in the US for example.

Does anyone know if this is the case or if this issue has changed recently?

Its the case afaik, and it certainly hasn't changed recently, if anything the volume restrictions will get more severe in the future

Is it the case with US models do you know or just those sold in the EU?

i think US models are unrestricted but EU models are, so an ipod bought in the states will be louder

    Thread hijack:

I have a 80gb classic with volume cap and i'm upgrading to the 160gb but i'd rather not have the cap.

Does anybody know any sites that sell the US ipod classic and ship to ireland? I'd rather not deal with ebay for this.
