Dumping a big log is a superb means of procrastination.

You can perform all sorts of tasks that you wouldnt normally carry out such as reading, washing your hands etc.

You can even have a **** afterwards to celebrate.

Procrastination refers to the counterproductive deferment of actions or tasks to a later time, therefor, any action, such as fapping or using the internet, are not in themselves acts of procrastination, but actions or tasks within themselves.

Whilst one may use these actions as distractions, in order to procrastinate about a different & entirely seperate action or task, the act of procrastination is not the afformentioned distraction itself.

In other words, thread = fail. ;)

Nah, procrastination can refer to one task in particular whereby you engage in other tasks to prevent yourself from doing the particular task. I always develop some kind of obsession around exam time.

Thinking about how I won't procrastinate; or blaming myself for procrastinating.
    Or, Cooking. Or *alone time*.

But not at the same time. Usually.

I'm afraid that you are incorrect.

Yes, procrastination is putting something off. However, by watching telly, you are engaged in another act. If you wanted to watch telly, but deferred in doing do, that would be an act of procrastination.

The thread title should actually be "what are your favourite things to do whilst you procrastinate about something else?".

I think somebody needs to "procrastinate", you're sounding a little frustrated there.

I suppose you could be right, maybe.

Either that, or every dictionary definition of the word is incorrect.

Either that, or every dictionary definition of the word is incorrect.
Noun 1. procrastination - the act of procrastinating; putting off or delaying or defering an action to a later time
    cunctation, shillyshally
delay, holdup - the act of delaying; inactivity resulting in something being put off until a later time

    ..............by <insert example here>

I know what you're saying starbelgrade but doesn't mean that the act of putting something off can't contain an act within itself.

I am quite familiar with procrastination myself in all its guises, whether that's knowingly putting something off or filling up my time when I should be doing something with something else.

You can't just tag a bit on to a definition just to suit your argument! Well, you can, but it doesn't make you right!

If its studying, then I tend to ring up my friends and talk to them for ages so that they can't study either. That way I don't feel as guilty. Evil though.

Also love to start cooking really long meals just for the craic.

Or turn on the radio and sing along.
