SEAT dealers & warranty

    Hi all,

I've come across the biggest stumbling block ever in trying to get my year old leon repaired under warranty. Basicaly to cut a long story short VW are not paying their Seat franchaises for warranty repairs so now the dealers are refusing to accept anymore cars. 3 long term dealers in my area have given up the franchaise including the dealer i bought the car from.

Another 4 i rang are owed a ball of money from VW & won't even entertain looking at it. In fairness they have all explained the situation in great detail & thinking with a business head i can't blame them. I have tried to contact VW today but got no response so will try again tomorrow, i have emailed them via the seat.ie website but that is as likely as none to get a response.

Has anyone else come across this problem or got it meaningfully resolved? It's not exactly a great advertisment for VW or Seat if they can't sort a simple thing as warranty repairs. Hopefully common sense will prevail, but just a heads up to other Seat owners.

My SEAT is out of warranty since mid February and my dealer took it in this week to give it a check for faulty sensors or whatever.

He never cracked on a word and was trying to sell me my next car ;)

In a situation like that i'd expect Seat Ireland to collect the car and provide a replacement while they dealt with the problem.

Where did you originally buy the car from?

Did you try motorpark in Galway? They're seat dealers now.

I dunno, i'd expect whoever the current importer is to take care of it.

I know the feeling i bought a 2 year old leon and there was a tapping noise form the engin, sent it to a seat dealer as i bought it form a ford garage, turns out the small end had gone in the engin so needed a new engin anyway i got the money back but heard today they are still waiting for a reply from seat to give the go ahead with the replacement,

while all this was happening i got in contact with a old seat tech who worked with them for years untill VW took overand closed the dearlership in was with at christmas anyway he told me that he was waiting for 4 months for a water pump replacement on a 09 Ibiza

everything has gone to computer now with VW all querys are run threw a system not in person so there is an unreal delay in getting a reply for seat.

i hope you get it sorted

Just a quick update - got an early call from a VW rep this morning, took a list of the dealers i rang & was back an hour later with a confirmed date for repairs. Apparently there is confusion in the ranks as there is a shakeup in their dealership, either way i don't care the problem is almost sorted.
Sometimes companies do actually read the contact us emails.....:)
