Wireless Flash for a Canon 450D

Lo all, Was taking photos inside, and was told how the flash on my Canon 450D wasn't that powerful (from seeing the result off a photo), so thinking of getting an external flash. Seen a few people using the wireless ones, and thinking of maybe the getting one. Also looking into if a wireless one can be fitted to the camera…

Was taking photos inside, and was told how the flash on my Canon 450D wasn't that powerful (from seeing the result off a photo), so thinking of getting an external flash.

Seen a few people using the wireless ones, and thinking of maybe the getting one. Also looking into if a wireless one can be fitted to the camera (best of both worlds, as such)?

Any thoughts on what brands make good flash? Would be mainly using said flashes for people up close, and maybe people on stages (close enough) later on.

If you're using your camera's built-in flash I suspect flash power is the least of your problems.

Could you post the errant photograph or a similar example and describe how you think a more powerful flash would improve it?
