Just wondering has anyone out there been to Praia da Luz before and how did you get from Faro airport. I was looking at getting a taxi or possibly hiring a car but looking for advice.

Also can anyone recommend things to do there.

    Thanks

It's about an hour on the Motorway A22 from Faro. Turn off the motorway for Lagos. I'd hire a car as there is lots to do around there. Visit Sagres (southermost point in Europe) the waterparks, zoomarine etc.

Praia da Luz is by far and away the best resort we have visited. We are now regulars there every year. Super choice of restaurants yet the resort does not have that in your face feel that others do.

    You'll have a ball.......

Agree - I stayed in lagos last year and its great around there. Definitel worth getting a car to see the sights and find all the little hidden beaches etc.

You can visit the Maddie apartments! I saw them when I was there. I'd recommend going to the beach at Lagos. There's also a place called ZooMarina which is fun and a waterpark called Splash and Slide. Visit Lagos in the evening for restaurants - I'd particularly recommend the Italian with the large queue outside it in one of the main squares.

Thanks everyone. Ended up renting a car and had no problem getting there. Lovely little village and will go back again. Locals were so nice and helpful and I ended up meeting one of my idols John Aldridge.
