Has YouTube gotten annoying to watch?

You gotta love YouTube for its content for sure but now it seems the intrusions to viewing it are on the increase.

First it was iTunes urging you to buy the song of the vid your lokking at but now they've gone into full blown ads from all over the place. To the point that I had an AIB ad flash up last night. Ironically I was watching a clip on Enron at the time.

Reckon the golden age of an ad free Youtube has now passed and in the future we'll all be chasing the X to close down annoying ads popping up while we're watching

The annotations, frozen images used to trick people into watching clips and sheer amount of homosexual male teenage "youtube celebrities" were the beginning of the end

EDIT - let's not forget pop songs accompanied by poorly edited clips of anime shows

I like the comments section. I often get worried if i spend too long without witnessing idiots having arguements which soon decent into racist mudslinging.

It lets me know there are still people with even less to do with their lives than me.

YouTube culture is bullshìt anyways, how does arsewipes talking about "kooky" and "zany" things like squirrel AIDS or something gather hundreds of thousands of views.

While news set in reality are just kept to the hundreds.

Was always going to happen after google moved in on it. Good the way music is handled on it. Got a lot better content-wise. No ads on the ipod version of it yet

It bothers me when I go to view my own videos (ones I made/uploaded) only to get pop up ads on them! Sneaky buggers. :mad:

Eh... I was never that big into the whole YouTube culture. It always seemed kind of annoying. Also hate how it got to the point where instant messaging conversations are basically just linking YouTube clips constantly. I like to chill and to read interesting articles with my own music in the background, stop sending me YouTube links and disrupting my peace, damnit! :mad:

Why the hell do you think anybody cares what you think? You're about 19, overweight, recording yourself in your bedroom, and for some reason, you think people actually care what you think? Quit wasting both my time and your own and just put up a video of yourself falling off a table or something

I didn't mind the itunes ads so much, after all they were only on the song I was listening too. The other ads annoyed me a little just for the volume of them. Those stupid comments that people put at certain times in the video on annoy me, they're normally stupid and distracting. What really annoys me about it is a video might be there, I have found it after searching but when I try to watch it I'm in the wrong country. This first happened with a channel 4 thing that I searched for that was only on youtube, no other video of it seems to be on the internet.

Also one very helpful documentary seems to have completely vanished from the internet. The damn thing was made to be viewed by as many people as possible and they remove it from the internet.

The only good thing is I seem to find alot of old films(1920-1980) there were far better actors in the past although alot of early ones are cheesy now.

Ads were bound to come along at some time google just sped the process up.what really is annoying is all the bubble boxes that pop up all over the video asking you to favourite,subscribe etc.

It's wrecking my head lately.

They have messed the whole thing up to fcuk.

I still can't figure out the new thumbs up score malarky.

Also, when I get comments on my vids now via email, the comments are not on the site.

Somebody when and fixed something that wasn't broke and needs to get broke them damn selves.

It's still good for music I guess (apart from that VEVO thing they've started using, which really bugs me, although I can't really explain why!)

The video bloggers are as annoying/pointless as ever. And the ads drive me mad obviously.

Never understood Google paying what they did for YouTube, I don't think it'll be possible to make it profitable. The ads needed are going to drive people away.

New page layout is annoying. Having a 30 second-long ad before a 12 second video was very annoying.
