Got my first nuke

I'm not sure if there are other threads with this here so if there are then I apologise.

So I got my first nuke last night after a LONG debate as to whether or not to have it in my killstreaks setup. (Could have gotten it many times before but didn't have it equipped and when I did I didn't even get close.)

It was in FFA on Skidrow. I went in with my killstreaks set up at 7, 9 and 25. Bit optimistic alright but it turns out that your Harriers and Pave Low will do most of the work for you, and you're not left vulnerable lying somewhere on the map with your laptop out for an AC130 or Chopper Gunner.

Got to the 7 kills, called in the Harriers, Harrier got a nice few kills while I laid low. Once the Harrier disappeared I called in the Pave Low, that got me up to 20 kills, for the last 5 kills my heart was racin. Ducked into the little room beside the stairs when I was on 23, got the 24th kill in there, set up a Claymore and as soon as I went to move to a different area a guy comes in, I hear the click of the Claymore and my heart stops. Luckily I managed to knife him for the 25th kill and jump out of the blast radius just in time, called in my nuke and my fist was duly raised in the air.

Most of the tips I've seen have been setting killstreaks at 9, 11 and 25 but I found that 80% of the time you're in an AC130 or Chopper Gunner, you'll get smoked pretty easily. Having the 7, 9 and 25 setup works really well because you can hide and still watch your back while the Harriers and Pave Low clean up.

And to all you boosters out there who just want to get a nuke to ruin other peoples games, F*** YOU, it's easy when you put in the practice instead of being cheating d***heads.

Well done. I loved mine cause I didnt know I had it on, I just had unlocked it and forgot to deselect it. Its still the only one I've got and I camped for 75% of it but still! Highrise - gun turret and pavelow helped out alot.

Haven't tried since, I seem to well with the predator, harriers and emergency airdrops in FFA now so I stick with them. Emergency airdrops are great as you can quickly grab the good stuff then let others run to the boxes. I usually grab one box and leave the rest as bait then camp (I know I know!). Pick off a few (or send in air from the grabbed box) then get the remaining stuff if they are any use.

Just a tip, maybe good playesr can use it when they are going for a nuke. You do have to camp a bit to get one I think. Don't think you can get an EMP from one though.

Yeah you definitely have to camp like a little b***h, it's frowned upon but if you're a running gunner the chances are you'll never get a nuke, I used to be a running gunner for so long and never got higher than a 5 killstreak. Since I've adapted my playing style, I've gotten for higher killstreaks with a lot less effort!

I've gotten an EMP in a care package, as I have 1 on the EMP challenge but have never gotten it from my own killstreak

Yes, you can get them from airdrops and emergency airdrops.

Ive got 2 from the emergency airdrop, so i need 1 more to complete part one of the call in 3 EMP's.

I was playing FFA and doing quite well, me and two other guys were in the 20's with our kills, there were no killstreaks coming in though so I thought nothing of it,next of all one of them gets a nuke! next game it was a few of the same players, playing on Afghan, about 2 minutes into the game an ac-130 appears, I thought "well balls to this!" and went snooping around the map, lo and behold, way over at the back on the big hill behind the anti air gun, there were the same two lads laying prone, tactical insertions beside them, headshotting away. then the nuke made sense, they werent using their killstreaks to bring up the scores just themselves, stun grenade over the hill, boom, charge in, 2 headshots, go prone, tactical respawn, get them again, lay two claymores either side (had scavenger on so got retooled) and went and hid, course the two of them came running over again, did the exact same thing, booster hunting, its the new pasttime of choice for pissed of COD players

I got my nuke on my own, and anyone who gets one genuinely deserves praise as its hard to do. Getting a spinny nuke symbol doesnt mean you're a good player unless you got it for real, and the sad thing is if I ever do get the symbol people will just assume I boosted for it:mad:

You can from a care package, not an emergency airdrop unless this is wrong.

Doubt anyone has EMP equipped, not the worth the hassle of a 15 killstreak...should be about the 5 kill mark..IMHO

I also got a nuke today in Domination.

Pity I was trapped in the chopper gunner and couldn't call it in then the game lagged out.

yeah i got my first recently in domination on scrapyard.
just camped in the back with hardline and 7,11,25.

I got my first nuke a while back on derail with the harriers chopper gunner and nuke. Only got 2 kills with the harriers, and 2 with the chopper gunner. Those guys were using stingers. So I had to get about 12 kills by myself to get the nuke. I was running, camping , running camping. Camped behind their spawn and just picked them all off as they ran to defuse a bomb. Really should not have gotten it. They should have killed me 4 times over. I doubt it would have happened without the silencer and they obviously were not looking at the kill cam. The nicest part of it was that I didn't know I had the nuke on. I was just seeing how long I could survive.

I got a 31 killstreak on scrapyard once using the chopper gunner but I had no nuke equipeed!

finally got my 5th nuke a few days ago in Ground War TDM. was using the UMP45 SOHP, STP and NINJA PRO. rushed into there spawn and got the Harriers........

I found Harriers, ac130 and nuke works the best for me.
Usually get the Nuke during the ac130 and then enjoy the last few seconds of it.

Last time i counted my nukes was February, got 29 overall.

Wonder what the best game mode to get nukes is? I think you need to be lucky, harriers and pave low are usually shot down fairly fast.
I was noticed how easy it was against players on low levels that haven't prestiged yet, think I might equip it when i get a game with a load of nubes playing.

I found that aswell,I've 5 in total,as you get higher up in rank they are definetly harder to get,I aways equip it at first oppurtunity,I haven't got one higher than lvl 34 on any of my prestiges' but I've been killed loads of times at 23/24 which is very annoying.lol.
