I'm visiting this hotel at the weekend with the wife and baby, and was hoping to squeeze in 18 on Saturday. It's not much fun on my own, so let me know if anyone is playing there on Saturday who would have room for me to tag along!

    cheers

I'm sure you'll be able to hook up with some members or visitors on a Saturday.

As a matter of interest, what do people make of Seafield? Part of really likes it, and part of me feels like it's all a bit too handy and short to be an enjoyable challenge. Regardless, it's a lovely place, nice hotel and club house etc. And the course is beautiful in the main. It's just very much a 'resort' design, but I suppose they were dead right, given the holiday location, a fun course that's playable by all levels, especially holiday hackers and social/society players.

It seems to get mixed reviews so interested to know what you think.

They're offering annual membership for €995 at the moment.

As Sheet probably knows, Seafield is not my favourite course. Far from it, but his descriptor of 'resort design' is an accurate one. Nothing too serious, nothing too difficult. To that I'd add, nothing too interesting - it needs time to mature. A few good holes at the start and along the beach, and some average holes in the middle.

PGL, I'd suggest you call the club and see what the time sheet looks like. I'd be tempted to join you myself (I'm local), but I'm playing up in Wicklow that day. All I would say is that if there's nothing going on, you could try the much nicer Courtown Golf Club next door.
