Maybe you could sit in on some Irish lectures in NUIM?
Or organise an Irish conversational group if they don't have one already.

I'm pretty gutted about this too to be honest. I'm definitely going to try go to Irish classes if they happen next semester. It would be great to get some of it back. Plus my grandad would be delighted...he is always telling me I should keep on with my natural language!

Is the fees/grant office open this week?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 433 ✭✭CnaG

I assumed it was Conradh na Gaeilge!

It could be that either. Actually I think I prefer that.

According to Google, CnaG could stand for Canadian Naval Air Group either (naval air group? really? is that even possible?)

I'm picturing airships - the helium ones which always seem to be full of Nazis in movies. Maybe I watch too many movies.

Why did other people pick their usernames? Am quite curious now...

Mine was the first thing that came into my head when I was registering. Not a huge fan of it, so I might subscribe and change it sometime.

I brought my little brother up to look around Maynooth today :)

Well, it was 2006, and my name was Declan :D

I actually would like to change it now.

I picked mine because I've spent most of my life confused. I've been using it for a very long time.

I'm gonna be honest, I wanted a username with Boyle in it and at the time 14 year old James thought it was cool......

My first post on boards was to contribute to an argument with some asswipe called Ulysses.

    Hence the slightly random name!

Mines comes from the first time I got on the internet when I was about 13 and was setting up a hotmail account. Wanted something irishy...that what's I came up with.

I always wondered about yours actually. I noticed you here when we were studying Ulysses in 3rd English last semester, I thought you were some git from my English class... :o

Got to play with an iPad for a while today.

I'm not planning on talking about anything else for a while.

Short version of a long story:

the "Auron" bit is Final Fantasy X's cooler sounding misspelling of the Irish name Aaron; because of which, it is easy to remember and outside of RPG and Square Enix Forums, it was, and remains, a username which is unlikely to be already taken.

the "groove" bit has a long, and not very exciting story involving one of my best and oldest online friends and a group of DJ's I used to mingle with back in my Trance and Techno DJing days. previous to this I would have been called "auron_j"

Is there a post office around Maynooth? I commute and have never needed to seek one out before now...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,487 ✭✭✭banquo

also one on south campus near the performance class room

seeing as you're on south campus a lot rory

And the main post office is across the car park from Tesco. Don't think the 2 on campus let you do all the extra post officey stuff like banking etc.

I'm looking to send a small package to the US. If the one in JH will let me do that, that'd be great, minimal time missed from trampoline training :) Thanks doods :)
