Céard ar mhaith leat nó Céard ba mhaith leat?

Which one is caighdeán and which one is colloquial? Or is one just wrong altogether?

They are both turning up on Google so I'm still completely confused!

Thanks for any help on this!

Céard ba mhaith leat is both caighdeánach and colloquial I think, but I'll check it out!

We learnt Cad ba mhaith leat in our class, which is teaching the CO, so I you'd say
Céard ba mhaith leat would be CO also

'Céard ar mhaith leat' seems wrong to me. 'Ar' shouldn't be used in that context. 'Céard ba mhaith leat' is definitely right.

I keep an open mind and check anything I'm not sure about.

I think it was because "Would you like" is "Ar mhaith leat" that I had written "céard ar mhaith leat" without thinking about it.

Great to know "céard ba mhaith" is colloquial and caighdeán. Happy days. Another one bites the dust.

Céard ar mhaith leat is definitely wrong! What you're looking at here is An Chopail agus an Clásal Coibhneasta. It's not easy!
