Lots of re-regs floating about, easy to spot, noobs who know the ropes. Many people, myself included no longer have access to their old accounts. It doesn't matter, I'm not my join date, I'm not my post count, how's that for old school?;)
Some of us would like to be allowed post as we are now but muppet-check is a pain in the arse. I've had several mods, too many really, id me in the last while. AFAIK they have respected my privacy but really I'd rather be left alone. No offence.

I joined last year for the Leaving Cert / College forums.

Gradually started moving towards Ranting & Raving and After Hours to post.

I generally read After Hours more than post.

Actually when i first saw "After Hours" i thought it meant that you posted there at night :o

Basically i'm a lurker mostly, and if after hours was a woman........Well i'd be in prison for stalking

It's also one of the only places you don't get judged for bad spelling / grammar :pac:

Having been on this site since the bad old days I can tell you that there is a constant trickle, sometimes a flood, of new registrants. They join, form a clique, said clique fades into non-existence and a few days/weeks/months a new one pops up. The once Titans of this site when I first registered are all but gone, replaced by noobs with much, much higher post counts than I but always the same sense of primacy.

    Such is the internets

I kind of would have thought that.

But if he thinks that's long, I'll be all flaunting my feb2009 around the place...

Yeah it's been a tough time on boards these past 14 months...we've had some laughs, some jokes, but it's just not like it was back in March 2009.
I remember it like it was last year....FF were in government and the country was going down the toilet....oh how times have changed. Those times I spent.......on Boards.ie....

Motors is where I live. Some interesting debates in there from time to time and you gradually become a regular. AH is for when I'm bored, nothing else.

I joined this site 2 months before you so you're still a n00b in my opinion. :p

Silence! I'll not be posted at in such fashion you over educated peasant:P Besides, I think we are the only remaining posters from our group. Need to form a solid body of opposition to the waves and waves of newbs who have claimed this site as their own.

    NOT AN INCH!

lol, remember back when the majority of people on this site played Counter Strike. It's weird to be able to see what you posted when you were 14/15 isn't it :D. Although I think a lot of people from the old days are still around but have changed their usernames. And now they don't play CS they have houses and families.

Hell I remember meeting many of them at LAN's in DNC. Those were the days, when you could take up a perceived insult from boards in person. It certainly is comforting to know that my adolescent madness will be preserved for posterity. Or at long as boards.ie can pay to host it.

They more than likely still play an FPS. I know when my first born breaks forth from their mother the first thing they see will be a keyboard, mouse and a never ending supply of people to shoot.

Is it just me or are there an awful lot of people registered in the last few weeks around boards at the moment??? Peole with low post counts and registration dates of mar/apr 2010.

Is boards becoming more popular or do a lot of people just have a second account . . .???

Of course it could be just me being slightly weird . . .;)

    Anyone else notice this recently???

    Sup, thetonynator?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,234 ✭✭✭thetonynator

ok, so i'm a noob. But if you read my post, i said within the last few weeks. As in, not the usual amount joining the whole time, but a surge of new ones, which has been explained many times by people saying tthe hack and the publicity it brought ( we all know it was a secret plan by the asmins ;) D))

    and btw, sup nehpets10?!!!

I joined to find band members. I found a guitarist alright but it didn't quite work out. :(

Forgot about it until just over a year ago. Couldn't believe I still remembered my username...

Soccer, Music and After Hours are my regular haunts here.

I had to set up a re-reg after the hack. Took a good while to get my account set up. I guess some people haven't bothered getting their old account set up again.
