Is there anyone else out there who finds the price of razor/shaver blades ridiculously expensive? Today for example, I went into Tesco to buy some for my Gillette Fusion and was quoted €22.50 for eight of them!!! Mind you I still bought them, as I'm starting to look like Tom Hanks in Castaway, so I had no choice... What are your opinions, I think it is an outrage!

    Tesco does quotes now?

Also, last time I checked, Gillette Fusion were not the only razor blades available.

Women's blades are even more expensive again. It's mad alright.

8 fusion blades should last 6 months so it's all relative when you think about it.

Yes actually that's what it says on the box, but tbh I can't see myself getting past 3 months...

More like 8 weeks if you have a regrowth rate like me and shave 7 days a week otherwise I end up looking like an ape after 24 hours.

Safety razors ftw, cheaper blades that last longer but you have to mind you don't scrape your face off with them.

There are a few threads in Bargain Alerts where cheap blades can be found online, try searching there.

I could never get more than 5 shaves from a Fusion or Mach 3.
The Gillette Sensor is worth trying and the cartridges are cheaper, it's probably the best Gillette cartridge from before they went the whole 'more blades are better' route.

As already mentioned, get yourself a safety razor and not only are the blades
less than 50 cent each you'll get a much better and closers have with none of the irritation caused by the multi-bladed cartridges.

Have a look at Safety razor thread or if looking for the ultimate shave, the straight razor threads.

They cost a fcukin fortune alright... but they're a good shave, so it's all relative.

Tesco quite often have deals on blades and disposables; look out for them

I agree. Women get charged a fortune for make up and razors for men is the only thing they can charge men a fortune for (men who use make up not included) 22 euro for 8 is a joke but they are the best quality

He clearly said he remembered seeing people use leather straps back in the days when we had straight razors to keep them sharp. And then he put 2+2 together, noticing your arm has the same texture as light leather.
