I have to agree with that a lot of companies really fall down when it comes to issueing the prizes. The past 6 months have been really good and we won a number of breaks away...
The first one was off a radio show, 2BB1D in Ireland sponsored by a regional tourist board, it took 4 months for them to send us the prize after multiple calls, and then the 'use by' was filled in for the date they posted it! So we had to get a new voucher!
The same month we won a separate prize off the same station and it was with us in 4 days!
Pigsback won a night away, with lots of bells and whistles, it took the account manager in Pigsback nearly 3 months to contact me - i was working in email with a clerical person there and kept being told she'd call. I sent in a list of dates to take the prize and heard nothing and finally got hold of her on one of the dates that was on my list!!! she then told me I needed to gibe her 6-8 weeks advance notice to book it! Now waiting for her to come back with re dates in April / May!
A major FMCG with a tour operator took 3 months to contact me back, considering the prize was to be used within 4 months of winning, but they did extend the range of dates I could travel and were very accommodating.
To be honest I not sure if the issues is who runs the competitions not sending details in time, or the companies not prioritising winners after the promotional activity has finished.

Fancy winning a 'Delectable' Hamper from award winning confectioners Pandora Bell? We've got one to give away and trust us, it's worth getting fat for.

    win-a-pandora-bell-hamper-square_1899.jpg

Bridgestone Guide Newcomer of the Year 2010 PANDORA BELL is the hot new confectioner with a seriously delicious offering. Their philosophy is simple: traditional methods + the finest ingredients = memorably delicious treats. Gloriously old-school Handmade Lollipops made with only natural colours and flavours, sumptuous Salted Butter Caramels made using the famous sea salt of Guérande, naughty but oh so nice Nougat rich in honey, full of nuts and fine dark chocolate. Er, Twix anyone? Didn't think so.

    To enter, visit www.peoplelovepresents.com

    Competition ends 5th April 2010.

I think because its such a popular site that its hard to win. My approach is to give sites with several competitions a year. If I don't win then, I stop entering. On my blacklist are pigsback, entertainment.ie and the rte guide.

What are your popular sites, the ones you have won most frequently?

Very interesting feedback..it seems theres always a catch to some competitions. A year ago my aunt won "theatre tickets in a VIP box with pre theatre glass of champagne" it turned out that the show was during the day there was no VIP box and when she went looking for the glass of champagne no one know nothing of it. It was a prize she got through a text-in radio show. So it was a slight let down.

My sister in law won a hamper of books from a well know magazine and never got it. She has tried to chase them about it and always gets the reply it will be sent out to her. That was last Summer and still no sign.

Generally I find websites poor as there are two many entrants. In fact I cannot think of any website/magazine/organisation that I have won more than once. I do better in postal competitions especially if there is some skill involved.

To anybody involved in organising competitions please note! Whatever positive publicity generated by running a competition is diluted by the winner grumbling to his/her friends about not getting the prize.

I have won at least 6 things from entertainment.ie in less than a year. Pigsback are awful when claiming rewards, they took 4 months to send me a voucher I claimed

I am not sure if it's a good news or not:o ! Today, for the first time since I participate to the thread, I was told I won something : a toy koala with Cushelle:D (thanks Ilean2 and Kerash).

The problem is that when they asked for my address there was a "postcode" section. I tried to write "Ireland" in it but they refused it as "wrong postcode" then I remembered Kerash had mentioned a postcode she uses for British competitions and managed to find it and use it and it was accepted.

I seriously doubt I'll ever receive the koala though as nowhere in the address did it indicate Ireland:(.

It was still nice to read I had won something:D. The only wins I ever had before were 3 separate 2 days hotel minibreaks (2 under my name and one under my best friend's name) with the Sunday Tribunes crosswords:).

Once again : I still don't seem to get the thank you icon:confused: but thanks to all the posters who participate to the thread by sharing their knowledge of new competitions.

This is not a competition website BUT... If you complete the surveys you are paid in vouchers. I think its quite similar to filling out all them forms for the comps! www.Irishopinions.com

I've been using this site for a while, you wont qualify for every survey and you have to get in quick as they can fill up fast. I got my first €10 amazon voucher from them this week.

The surveys can be tedious but absolutely no hassle claiming rewards
