I hope your right and they do come early. Last year though they didnt set exact dates for results. The generic response was that it would take four weeks and we were not to ring before that time had elapsed.

I was talking to someone who had the idea that in order to prevent any problems with pass marks (like other years) they would wait until all results were in before posting. That way they would know where to set the cut off point.

Naw I think we'll all get our results around the same date.. yours is probably one of the last tests so it'd give them an extra week or so to do the adding and dividing to find the average mark

Read somewhere today that total number of applicants this year was 9008 seems to be similar to previous years.

Rio, where did you read this may I ask, have been looking for some info on numbers?

Did my IST yesterday and was told that results would not be out until after 20th April. Easter will slow them up a bit too I think...and so the waiting begins...

Thanks Rio! Been looking for the numbers for a while although I was hoping it would be lower

Going by the last list of people in for it, 51 names on here, 9008 applicants...we make up just a skimpy 0.57% of the total :rolleyes: It really is a shocking competition when you think about it!

So was I pluginbaby, but theres normally a good few dont turn up to IST and then people will not turn up to the A/C as well...when it gets to that stage.... :rolleyes:

c15 was approx 10k applications for 400 jobs

c16 is somewhere around 9000 applications for 200 jobs.

Oh & were is people getting the figures about the number of recruits?

Have they stated how many jobs there are officially for C16? Because I also heard people saying that they did not meet recruitment numbers for C15, hence the early recruitment drive this year...Dont hold me to this, like I say, just what I have heard!

Nowhere officially, it was mentioned at the induction day however that there are 200 jobs available for c16.

but that was before their golden handshake from the government. That and the chancellor has said policing UK wide won't be affected by any cut backs. here's hoping. I was also told by a friend on who started hotel GV last aug that there wouldn't be a recruitment drive this year due to funding and that turned out false lol

If the PSNI recuitment has taught us anything, it to not try and predict what they are up to or whats coming next! They certainly like to keep things intresting and us on our toes...

Could well be more than the 200 jobs, just keep going for it. Hopefully we all get to the a/c and a chance to get one of whatever number of jobs are going :rolleyes:

I always thought that as long as 50/50 was running it would be 440 positions regardless otherwise their target wouldn't be met... can't remember where I read that at was last year tho I mind seeing it. Although I did wonder if maybe part of the reason this years campaign was ran so early was maybe with so many English forces putting on recruitment freezes due to funding, that maybe the PSNI were trying to sneak another campaign in before possible fund cutting lol.

without stepping on any toes here, i think you hit it on the head there, the purpose of an early campaign was more than likely so that they could run another in september. (which could accommodate truth in the 200 jobs for c16 rumour)

200 space in 1 year is untrue, they want as many RC's pushed through this year and next to get the numbers up before recruitment falls down to wastage (ie. what goes out comes in possibly 50-100 per year) in which case they would never meet their target of RC's in the force.

so 2 options are:
1) rumour is untrue and 440 total jobs as per usual
2) rumour is true BUT another campaign will be run in september, still accommodating 440 total jobs this year

At this point any speculation about recruitment numbers, a second campaign etc etc isn't going to get anybody anywhere. Everyone sit tight, chillax and await official confirmation.

All I'm focusing on is my IST results arriving hopefully soon, and then I can start stressing about the AC if I'm lucky enough to have passed IST. Worry about each stage as it happens!
