With Orla also in London, maybe RTE could relocate the show to over there, or start a spin off.

    :D

I want Louie's wife to come into it - and I would like her to be Tina Kellegher (from BallyK) she'd be a great addition to the cast and she'd be good behind the bar.

Secondly who lives in Gina's old house????

As far as I remember, Jimmy and other members of the Doyle family are in Australia. Maybe RTE could do a spin off of these characters and their lives down under. RTE could call it Fair Dinkum.

If they're gonna do a spin-off, it would have to be John Deegan as a florist (the one we discussed months ago) - that'd be quality...

As Keith Duffy is reported to be leaving Coronation Steet; any chance Ringo might return to Carrigstown

Kira was the one with Mondo. Ali is there as well; but she's in Leeds.

No Chance, he turned down Fair City to go to Corrie, I would say he just wants to focus on Boyzone now. Stupid idea to put him in Fair City in the first place in my opinion.

The Fair City script writers are very imaginative people. How many people have they come up with now that have gone missing. Next week Paul's daughter (i cant think of her name goes missing) after he tells that dork of a sean a few home truths. I read it in one of yesterdays papers.

I reckon she will be back and that she and tracey will be best friends, something Dean will have to like or lump.

I found Kylies scene with the Fahys strange tonight. When she walked in and Jennifer was there I though it was arranged and Jennifer was there to oversee things. Then when it transpired that it wasn't I would've thought under the circumstances Jennifer might have stayed in the room.

I'm not enjoying Robert as much this past week as I usually do. I think it's because the story is about his Asperger's Syndrome, rather than using his Apergers to add some comedy or drama to an existing story.

The problem with the story about his condition is that there is nothing at stake. It's like a story about his height. He can't change it, so it's only going to be pointless talk.

Also, because it's talking about stuff we already know, it feels repetitive. In every scene he is being stupidly punctual, or making a list. It's as if they have reduced him to being nothing but his illness. That's disappointing, because it's what TV does so often to a character with a handicap, and the Fair City team had avoided it so well up to now.

Soap writing is hard, and I don't think they get enough credit. For one thing, there are so many cliches to avoid.

I thought last night's script was great. There was lovely exploration of Christy and Carol's relationship, nice maternal ferocity from Jo, etc. But there was one scene that clunked heavily. It was in the diner where Dermot was making fangs out of French fries. Good family fun, but as soon as Jo opened her mouth I knew exactly what she was going to say. "It's ages since we all had fun like this!" It's what soap characters ALWAYS say in a scene like that.

What struck me about this was that the writer obviously thought a bit about soap cliches. He got a great scene later out of avoiding them. Louie says: "Is this where you apologise to me for being rude, I let you off the hook, you thank me profusely, and I remind you that you should really be apologising to Carol?"

I really liked Esther too. There is a great edge to everything she says, and some of the dialogue they gave her was just hilarious. "What kind of a shop runs out of bon-bons?" I don't know why I found that so funny, but it cracked me up. Then she sighs. "I suppose I'll have to settle for a bar of Whole Nut."

I hope they keep her. There hasn't been a proper snippy old woman since Eunice.

Anyone else think Tracey might go back hooking to pay all her debts?

I cant see Tracey and Carol co existing behind the bar in McCoys tbh best friends or not

Something tells me that since Tracey let Kylie back in to her and Dean's place. Things aren't going to work for them. There drifting apart. . .
