the sad thing is... more people will actually tune in for home and away (instead of masturbating to f*cked in ireland)

Going to the Irish pub in town around half 4. Will stay there until kicking out time. I wish I could watch the parade on d'internet but they are not showing it.

I cant believe their only showing an hour of it on d'telly.

I have been listening to Irish music all day(modern stuff not diddly-eye stuff). Christie Moore is some legend.

I'm waiting to see the nine o clock news to night so i can feel full of green green pride at the sight of our drunken youths rampaging and vomiting their way through the streets of dublin in the name of ireland.

Wearing a Celtic jersey with a half Liverpool FC/Sunderland FC tracksuit, drinking a can of Dutch Gold after just having a singing session of Fields of Athenry and now just about to mumble Amhrán na bhFiann.

Me too and I fell into the trap of correcting their factual inaccuracies about St. Patrick/'s Day on their profile updates, which has led to a bunch of them copying and pasting segments of 'Irish history' from Wikipedia in an attempt to disprove their ignorance to each other

its kind of sad really isn't it?

What we do to celebrate our national holiday in this country:

Watch a pathetic parade that looks the exact same as last years one go by, then head off to the pub ( or a field for those underage ;)) and get absoluteely wasted, forgetting everything that happened and waking up in the morning with a terrible headache, no memory and the dawning realisation that its not sunday morning, its thursday and you've got to go to work ( or school for those that were on dutch gold and bav).

Sad way to celebrate our patrons feast day really!!!

i don't mind St Patrick's day as a day off but absolutely cant stand the image of Ireland the day itself projects. A day which is closer to celebrating Darby O'Gill then St Patrick or Irish culture. The Irish are trying to project an image of themselves around the world to appeal to certain Americans and whoever else is stupid enough to believe in leprechauns.

For me the club all Ireland finals are the only thing which represent true Irish culture on paddy's day then anything else whether your into GAA or not. I watched them today and otherwise done nothing different to what id do on the weekend
