11565V now also has three channels (test1, test2 and test3). One of which (test 3) is now showing E4. I wonder if it has anything to do with making Big Brother's interactive service available in Ireland.

Wierd that ITV2 is FTA on 2 channels (not on Digibox) and Fox Kids +1 and one Box Office are all FTA..

This test has now changed colour bars and EPG info for E!

I'll have to check on my Satellite Receiver settings:
The transponder seems to have 3 Box office, Fox Kids and Fox Kids +1

It must be a test as the Frequency is 11.xxxx something and the listed

Hmm it may not be E! channel as it's labelled Channel 4! Plus it's there with other Channel Four owned channels like Film4.

Also, as i stated in other thread, the channel is encrypted on UK FTV card. Dunno what its status is on UK sub card. :rolleyes:

betcha its tests for the new channel four channel 4 channel given the provisional title 4 extra. Its been created for freeview but will be on all platforms. Maybe we'll have 2 channels from 4 now.

Only guessing (actually deluded fantasy here). The herald said sky + is due mid next year. Now that Nevada tele have everything up and running for quite a while now, this really has no logical reason. The original date being Sept for the product launch (and although the telecom aspect required was late, only a couple of weeks). Perhaps we don't get sky + until the others join the platform which may make sense as it wont be easy to sell. I shall go back to my trance now.

By the way the channel 4 channel stoped showing adless dogless celeb BB at around 2. It was still a censored feed though. Its now showing a ntl test card with no epg info anymore.

Channel 4 has launched its interactive channel Four Active on Sky Digital after resolving a last-minute dispute over the terms of the deal.

The launch was delayed by two weeks while the details of the joint venture were ironed out.

It will enable Channel 4 to expand its interactive services across its entire range of programmes.

Four Active, which is launching off the back of Celebrity Big Brother, will power all the channel's interactive services.

These have previously only been available for a few programmes, such as Banzai, 15 to One and Big Brother.

Viewers will now be able to access Four Active services - such as shopping, email, voting and games - around the clock.

"Having a permanent behind-screen presence makes great business sense," said Gerry Bastable, Channel 4's managing director of digital services.

"Viewers want the option of more interactivity on TV."

The service, which has been developed in association with BSkyB and follows a similar template to the Sky Active service, is currently only available to Sky Digital customers but the broadcaster is planning to expand on to digital cable.

Earlier this year, Big Brother viewers cast more than 5 million votes - about a third of all votes - via digital satellite TV.

Richard Freudenstein, the BSkyB director of channels, said interactivity had an "important role to play in driving channel loyalty and educating consumers about the benefits of digital TV".

At midnight the Channel 4 label, was showing the Premier League Preview Show. It gave a test card before that, and a phone number, The phone number went throught to NTL.

It was showing some replay of a graphic saying,
Program dropped. It gave a UK phone number as well. This was like a computer graphic, repeating itself and not a standard Test Card!!!

I reckon its a production house feeding items to different broadcast networks... at the moment adverts are being fed out to different networks.

At around lunchtime the channel had phone numbers listed for various departments of Tower Broadcast Centre in London. Maybe this is a feed for them?

Don't think its anything to do with Channel 4, maybe the broadcast centre is based in the same office/using same sat feed.

Puzzles:
How can 4 Active be on epg when:
a) Interactive stuff isn't on EPG but the red button
b) C4 isn't "on" ROI card.
