Oddly, I *love* some of the things that people are afraid of here. Breaking apart styrofoam is AMAZING and I could pull cotton wool apart until the cows come home (they were in the pub).

I used to have to leave the room any time someone was eating breakfast cereal with milk. Sent shivers down my spine. I also have a fear of people putting things in my mouth if I yawn in a public place (cue filthy jokes).

I just wanted to post here.
Because now I have reached 1400 posts and there is no longer a 13 in my post count.
(Which is one of my phobias, the fear of the number 13)

    God , I'm weird. :D

Fear of the number 13 - triskaidekaphobia ;)

I've got hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia - a fear of long words....

Floccinaucinihilipilification is a lovely word, I use it all the time! :pac:

Once got stung in Clare during a class trip a few years ago, passed out. Whenever I'm in sea water and get itchy, I know there's a jellyfish or two knocking around so I always get out, and lo and behold I spot them the second I'm out.

Really, really dislike stickers and hate the habit some people have of sticking apple stickers everywhere. If I see a used band aid I am fit to vomit.

-Any damage to my Achilles heel.. just using the words "sliced" and "achilles heel" in the same sentence makes me cringe, and really, really bothers me for awhile.
-The sound/feel of teeth on anything that isn't food or gum, particularly ceramics, cement (AHX nearly broke me), cloth of any sort, glass, styrofoam, etc.
-Having to clean up vomit, or see other people vomit, even in a film/tv show. This also includes the sound dogs make before they vomit (if you've ever had a dog, you'd know what I'm talking about). But others' vomit doesn't make me vomit.. just really bothers me.
-Seeing/hearing other people eat. This stems from eating alone all my life outside of holidays. Really, really bothers me. Also, messy eaters. Squicks me out.

Te thought of touching cotton wool with cold hands makes me cringe. Like when your hands are REALLY numb with cold... God knows why.

Also hate people touching my knees.

Also dislike those centaur creatures. Half man half cow..... The ones in Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe make me scared :(

    * That squeaky feeling of teeth rubbing against the shiny surface of an apple.

    * Being in the sea. Even paddling. Actually, that's not a weird phobia at all. If someone crapped or pissed in one end of a bath, would you happily ignore it and remain in the other end? I think not.

    * Moths. Particularly the really large ones.

So does that mean there are really jellyfish there?

Or that you are letting your imagination run away with you?

There can't be jellyfish every time you get into the water.

Not kidding, Whenever I get itchy in the water, It's usually the sign for me to get out, It's one of those feelings that you can't describe. Also Jellyfishes have become more and more frequent than in the past so I don't get in the water anymore but I do spot them quiet alot.

+1 to the small hands thing, guys with small hands really freak me out, there's actually been guys I would've been with if it weren't for their hands being smaller than mine. I also can't be with guys shorter than me. I don't know why it bothers me.. it just does. :(

I'm afraid of horses, pregnant women, leg hair, newborn babys, any sort of insect, Eastenders and buses driving by me.

I have a fear of posting on the interwebs. :(

Currently, my hands are covered in cling film, and I'm wearing a bee-keeper suit, because Norton told me there's a chance I can catch a virus. :(

    I don't want aids. . . :pac:

If I ever have to shake hands with someone like that, I visibly wince.

Of course, it could be so much worse...

+1 on the cant date men shorter than me...i always feel like i look their mother!

and RayM...if i cant avoid a handshake with a small handed person, i am acutely aware of how long said handshake lasts for and i do a discrete hand wipe on my clothes afterwards! makes me feel violated!

ive never met anyone who shares this fear, never mind 2 boardsies!

:( One night after the cinema my mate drove us in the opposite direction to the Jack Lynch Tunnel just to freak me out  Always hate going through them, in trains, cars...doesn't matter.

I suppose it's a far cry better then if you were aroused by them. THAT'd be weird!

And here I thought I was going to die a spinster! :P

Oh, another phobia I was just reminded of: I hate, hate, HATE people who wash their dishes in a sink full of water. I mean the kind who put all the dirty dishes in the sink, and the water turns an awful brown colour, and there's bits floating around. It gets right under my skin, to the point where I gag if I have to put my hand in the water to do them myself!

I don't care if I'm wasting water, each one of my dishes gets washed with fresh running water, the other way just seems so damn unsanitary. Ick ick ICK.

I make a mental note to wash my hands at the earliest opportunity. There is nothing - nothing - worse than a loose, sweaty handshake with a tiny flaccid-handed freak.

Well, that's a fairly weird comment.

    I love it though.
