    Just Received this:

WWE Shop will have a WM26 Hotel Merchandise Stand in the lobby of the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort and in the lobby of the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort. There will not be a merchandise stand at the Arizona Biltmore Resort, WWE Shop apologizes for this inconvenience as the Arizona Biltmore Resort would not authorize this stand in their lobby.

Attached, is a list of all the WM 26 merchandise that will be available for purchase at the Merchandise Stand. If you are interested in purchasing any of these items now, simply compete the attached order form and email it to Jim Harrison at WM26Merchandise@hotmail.com. Please keep a copy of your order form as you will need to present it at the Merchandise Stand when you pick up your merchandise.

If you are an Arizona Biltmore Resort guest, you may still purchase merchandise by either visiting one of the Pointe Hilton locations or by using the attached order form to place your order now. You would indicate on your order form which hotel location you would pick up your merchandise from.

The hours of operation for the WM26 Hotel Merchandise Stand will be as follows…
    Thursday, March 25th, 12PM - 6PM
    Friday, March 26th, 10AM - 6PM
    Saturday, March 27th, 9AM - 5PM

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jim Harrison at the above stated email address. Thank you.

A bit annoyed since the hotels are a couple of mile away from the Bitmore Hotel

Well, thats just absolutely obsurd! SURELY the WWE should have checked all this stuff before booking the hotels and conversely for the hotel its not exactly great business for them, makes them seem pretty inflexible which is exactly what you don't want from a 5* hotel!

Well, luckily my silver's (bro and dad) are in the hilton so will be going over at some point I am sure. Not tooo much of trouble but heh still...Think I want the mania t-shirt and POSSIBLY either the hoodie and/or the shot glass.

I won't say I agree with the Biltmore's decision to refuse a merchandise stand, but I can certainly understand their reasoning. (Most) guests at 5 star hotels expect a certain level of service and atmosphere (I was in a Ritz Carlton once where guests were not allowed to sit in the main lobby if they were wearing jean pants, shenanigans like this are something you will run into at luxury hotels).

In any event, I'm sure the Biltmore staff doesn't want a large group of wrestling fans forming a large crowd or making too much noise for the other guests. Right or wrong, I'm sure this is their reasoning behind not allowing a merchandise stand.

Well this is totally understandable BUT why do this with the WWE in the first place? It does seem that sort of hotel which to be honest you've got x amount of WRESTLING fans who will more than likely be wearing jeans and tee's so why wasn't there a flag raised is my problem that these people might bring the hotels 'tone down'. I would have much rather been in a hilton where apparently its not a problem!

I guess its a trade off though, I mean it'll certainly be a lovely hotel which I guess you could argue is the point of them wanting this hotel being 'platinum' I am just unsure which i'd rather pick...I guess we'll see when we get there...certainly doesn't look like the hotel will be accepting any large whoooo's into the middle of the night :P.

I'm assuming the WWE picked that particular hotel for the platinum package holders because its a 'nicer' (more expensive, higher star rating) hotel than the other Hilton package resorts. A perk for springing for the added cost of the platinum package if you will. Only a handful of package holders will be there (the platinum group is by far the smallest of the three) so It probably won't be too much a situation of the rowdy WWE folk causing too much a ruckus ( at least I hope not ;) ).

Yea man I remember the Hyatt Regency last year, every 30 seconds someone would scream 'WOOOOOOOOOO!'. I'm sure the other guests in the hotel who weren't there for Wrestlemania, or had no idea who Ric Flair was were quite confused. :D

For those staying at the Flamingo in Vegas, what site did you book it through? I've booked through the hotel website and it looks like I could save about 30-40 euro at least by going through one of those other travel sites...

Always shop around for Vegas hotels man, price varies drastically between sites. I used Orbitz and saved ~ 40% off the Wynn Salon Suite. Might want to give them a try and see how their rates differ. Just off the top of my head the coupon code '10FABSAVE' will give you an instant 10% off discount, there may be others but thats the one I remember stacking on the 35% off advance purchase I had on the room to begin with.

The coupon codes are what is going to save you the most money. Just shop around and they are out there. Also, lots of the casinos will offer resort credits that can be applied to room service or whatever.

Booking.com reduced the price of my hotel from 428 euro to 211 euro. That's some saving. I cancelled my reservation anyway at the Flamingo and I'll re-book through Booking.com or eBookers.

Whats the best site for flights? Anyone use Orbitz? There's one site I found that would only take credit cards issued in the US or Canada. Feckers.

Never used that one mate so I don't know...I presume if they have the ATOL/ABTA equivalent approvals, they should be okay to book through.

Any news on the BA saga?

David Copperfield is doing magic shows in Vegas the time we are there. Anyone going to see him? I thought about going to that Lance Burton fella but David Copperfield might be better...

    I haven't a clue really to be honest :)

Folks, I am taking individual drinks orders now...

Soft Drinks (6 pack) (560ml bottles) - Coke, Sprite etc - $29 inc fees & tax

Miller, Bud etc (6 pack) - Starting at $29.50 inc fees & tax

The price list posted a few weeks ago is incorrect as 19% service fee & 9.5% tax is not added to the total prices.

It still works out ok at less than $5 a bottle.

Please PM me if you want to make an order before next week so that I can get it all sorted with Centerplate. Payment can be made through Paypal in euro (€1 = about $1.31).

Hi Andrew, I have sent you my contact details and info regarding my drinks order by PM.

News on the BA saga taking from the ITV news site.

    BA strikes averted?

    6.35PM Mon Mar 8 2010
ITV News has learnt of a last minute proposal that could avert strike action by BA cabin crew. The radical suggestions are being given to the airline by negotiators on behalf of the union.
Union sources have told us that if the company doesn't agree to the conditions over the next 24 hours, strikes are inevitable.
Union members have voted twice in favour of industrial action, but the 'Unite' union has held off naming strike dates, preferring to continue with negotiations.

    I haven't a clue really to be honest :)

It's the other way around ........

Lance Burton is heads and shoulders above David Copperfield, its not even close. Copperfield was good in his prime but he's well past that and his new show is in a smaller venue and doesn't have any of his full scale illusions. (They actually show video clips of his bigger illusions to the live audience, he doesn't even perform them!).

I've seen the Lance Burton show a number of times and it never gets old. His mastery of sleight of hand and the manner in which he performs it is amazing. Go see this show, you will not be disappointed. I bought my ticket about a month ago because I knew I wanted to see it once I found out I was going to vegas again, got Main Floor, Row A, Seat #1, best seat in the house :)

It most definately is. IIRC all floor seats are the same price. I remember posting a month or so back and recommending his show. I think the ticket price for front row was something like 80 bucks, which compared to the other shows in Vegas is a bargain (Criss Angel on the floor is 180 bucks IIRC, most of the other Cirque shows and O/KA on the floor run you approx 150 each)

I was actually going to attend Criss Angel's 'Believe'...... That is until I read the show reviews. It's supposed to be absolutely terrible. Have a look at Tripadvisor's review page, it has an overall rating of 1.5/5 stars and is ranked #505/585 attractions in Las Vegas.:eek::eek::eek:

Damn. I thought for those prices it had to be a hell of a show. It's all about the name I suppose. I'll probably go to one of that Lance Burton's shows one night then :)

anyone thinking of going to magicians should check this guy out, he plays most afternoons at harrahs and you can get tickets for next to nothing on the casino floor with purchase of a drink, he doesn't do any of the big copperfield/burton tricks (its all simple magic) but he is so funny, best way to pass an hour in vegas imo

When I was on honeymoon in Las Vegas we stayed at the Luxor where Chriss Angel is performing. We got cheap tickets for being on honeymoon, the show was ok for $25 each but if I had paid top whack I would of been really disappointed. The show was far to short and the tricks weren't really that spectacular.

Seems like the talks end at 5pm today.

    From Channel4.com

Crucial talks aimed at averting strikes by British Airways cabin crew are set to end today with time running out on reaching a deal before industrial action is called.

The union Unite has been in negotiations with the airline for months in a bid to resolve a bitter row over cost-savings, including cuts in cabin crew.
Negotiators have a deadline of 5pm this evening to make a deal and avert strike action. Trade unions must give companies seven days' notice of action, making next Wednesday (17 March) a possible date for a walkout.
Union members have twice voted in favour of industrial action but have held off naming strike dates while still in talks. In order to maintain their mandate for strike action cabin crew must strike by 22 March, although the union ruled out any stoppages over Easter.
BA maintains it has 1,000 volunteer staff ready to work as cabin crew in the coming weeks if a strike goes ahead.
Chief executive of BA, Willie Walsh, said he was willing to talk to unions the issues raised by cabin crew, but he stressed changes made to onboard crew members would not be reversed.
Flights from London's City airport, including long-haul services to New York, would operate normally in the event of a strike, while 70 per cent of cabin crew would work at Gatwick, meaning all long haul and 50 per cent of short haul flights would not be affected, he said.
No specific details were given about flights from Heathrow if a strike goes ahead, but Mr Walsh said a "substantial" number of long and short-haul flights would still operate.
The front page of the latest edition of BA's staff newspaper, BA News, has a photograph of Mr Walsh and a headline which reads: "Time for BA to move on".
Mr Walsh said a strike by cabin crew will not ground the airline, adding that contingency plans were in place to keep as many customers as possible flying.
